27 Officers and 605 other ranks from 3 Bde, 9 Bde, 31 Bde and Divisional Troops took part in in conjunction with the celebration of 1st Division’s 53rd anniversary on 12 Jul 2019.

1st Div was established on 1 Jul 1966 as Headquarters Land Force East Malaysia (HQ LFEM) at Haigate Kuala Lumpur. It took over the responsibility of defending Sabah dan Sarawak from Headquarters Director of Borneo Operations (HQ DABOPS).

The 150th Armed Forces Council meeting renamed HQ LFEM to HQ 1st Malaysia Infantry Division on 24 Jul 1969.

SARAWAK: Seramai 27 pegawai dan 605 anggota Lain-Lain Pangkat (LLP) dari formasi-formasi 3 Bgd, 9 Bgd, 31 Bgd dan Trup Divisyen terlibat dalam Perbarisan Sempena Hari Ulang Tahun 1 Divisyen Ke-53 disempurnakan Panglima 1 Div, Mej Jen Dato’ Md Din Hj Abu bertempat di Padang Kawad Rejimen Ke-4 Kor Armor Diraja pada 12 Jul 2019.

Perbarisan diketuai oleh Lt Kol Anuar Ahmad dan diiringi pancaragam gabungan dari pasukan 11 RAMD, 13 RAMD, 10 RRD dan 4 KAD.

Menyingkap kembali sejarah 1 Div ianya bermula pada 1 Jul 1966, Headquarters Land Force East Malaysia (HQ LFEM) atau Markas Tentera Darat Malaysia Timur ditubuhkan di Haigate Kuala Lumpur dan mengambil alih tanggungjawab pertahanan di Sabah dan Sarawak dari Headquarters Director of Borneo Operations (HQ DABOPS).

Sidang Majlis Angkatan Tentera yang Ke-150 kemudiannya menukarkan HQ LFEM kepada Markas Divisyen Pertama Infantri Malaysia pada 24 Jul 1969 dan sehingga kini MK 1 Div telah berusia 53 tahun.
