Subang, 6 February 2021 – Senior Minister of Defence, YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob paid a working visit to the RMAF Air Operations Command Headquarters (MPOU) and Subang Air Base (PU Subang). His was also accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, YBhg Dato’ Sri Muez bin Abd Aziz.

The arrival of YB Senior Minister of Defence and Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence was welcomed by the Chief of Air Force, Gen Tan Sri Ackbal bin Hj Abdul Samad RMAF, Air Operations Commander, Lt Gen Dato’ Mohammad Salleh bin Hj Osman RMAF, Air Support Commander, Lt Gen Dato’ Mohammad Norazlan bin Aris RMAF, Base Executing Officer and acting Commander of PU Subang, Col Mohammad Jafri bin Suboh RMAF as well as the headquarters and base executive.

YB Senior Minister of Defence was then briefed on the operations, direction and challenges of the MPOU by the Commander of Air Operations. Next, the Honorable Senior Minister of Defence was also brought to the new MPOU gallery building which was newly inaugurated in December 2020.

YB Senior Minister of Defence then continued his visit to No. 22 Squadron. He was briefed on the operation of No. 22. Squadron by Lt Col Ir. Khairul bin Ayob RMAF, Head of Engineering Division of No. 22 Squadron. The working visit continued to the A400M Part Task Trainer (PTT) Loadmaster and YB Senior Minister of Defence was briefed by Maj Mohd Arhamar bin Jaafar RMAF, Head of Training Division No. 22 Squadron. No. 22 Squadron is among the squads that plays an important role in the operation of logistics aids for the delivery of medical equipment during the period of the country hit by the global health crisis pandemic Covid-19.

Next, YB Senior Minister of Defence continued his working visit to review the operation of the Simulator-G Research and Training Center, RMAF Institute of Aviation Medicine (IPP). His arrival was welcomed by the RMAF IPP Director, Brig Gen (Dr) Mohamed Haizar bin Haron. Briefing was also delivered by the Head of the RMAF IPP Health Division, Col (Dr) Saravanan a/l Annamalai. He also tried General Aviation Trainer II (GAT II) which is a basic simulator to train RMAF pilots to identify confusion in the air. He was also shown a demonstration of the High Performance Human Centrifuge (HPHC) which is a special simulator used to train pilots to face the force of gravity (G force) while performing “maneuvers” to reduce the risk of accidents to pilots and aircraft during training.

He ended his working visit with a visit to the Air Warfare Center. YB Senior Minister of Defence also presented charity donations to special children of RMAF MPOU, MPBU and PU Subang.

This working visit is a manifestation of the message of the YB Senior Minister of Defence which focuses on four (4) directions of the Ministry, namely:

  1. Empower the MAF in terms of assets and armaments.
  2. Improving the technology system used by MAF to be in line with the latest technological developments.
  3. Empower the defence industry so that Malaysia can become a strong country in the defence industry in the region.
  4. Strengthen the welfare of MAF members and the welfare of MAF veterans.

This is the second working visit by Honorable YB Minister of Defence to the RMAF after his earlier visit to PU Butterworth on 20 June 2020.

LAWATAN KERJA MENTERI KANAN PERTAHANAN KE MARKAS PEMERINTAHAN OPERASI UDARA DAN PANGKALAN UDARA SUBANG

Subang, 6 Februari 2021 – Menteri Kanan Pertahanan, YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob hari ini telah melaksanakan lawatan kerja ke Markas Pemerintahan Operasi Udara (MPOU) dan Pangkalan Udara Subang (PU Subang). Lawatan kerja beliau turut disertai Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pertahanan, YBhg Dato’ Sri Muez bin Abd Aziz.

Ketibaan YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan dan Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pertahanan disambut oleh Panglima Tentera Udara, Jen Tan Sri Ackbal bin Hj Abdul Samad TUDM; Panglima Operasi Udara, Lt Jen Dato’ Mohammad Salleh bin Hj Osman TUDM; Panglima Bantuan Udara, Lt Jen Dato’ Mohammad Norazlan bin Aris TUDM; Pegawai Laksana Pangkalan merangkap pemangku Komander PU Subang, Kol Mohammad Jafri bin Suboh TUDM serta barisan eksekutif markas dan pangkalan.

Sebaik ketibaan, YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan telah menerima dan memeriksa Kawalan Kuarter dari PU Subang. Beliau seterusnya diberikan taklimat pengoperasian, hala tuju dan cabaran MPOU oleh Panglima Operasi Udara. Seterusnya YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan turut dibawa ke sudut galeri bangunan baharu MPOU tersebut yang baharu dirasmikan pada Disember 2020.

YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan kemudiannya meneruskan lawatan kerja ke No. 22 Skuadron. Beliau telah diberikan taklimat pengoperasian No. 22. Skuadron oleh Lt Kol Ir. Khairul bin Ayob TUDM, Ketua Bahagian Kejuruteraan No. 22 Skuadron. Lawatan kerja diteruskan ke A400M Part Task Trainer (PTT) Loadmaster dan YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan telah diberikan taklimat oleh Mej Mohd Arhamar bin Jaafar TUDM, Ketua Bahagian Latih No. 22 Skuadron. No. 22 Skuadron adalah antara skuadron yang memainkan peranan penting dalam pengoperasian bantuan logistik bagi penghantaran udara peralatan perubatan dalam tempoh negara dilanda krisis kesihatan global pandemik Covid-19.

Seterusnya YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan meneruskan lawatan kerja meninjau pengoperasian Pusat Penyelidikan dan Latihan Simulator-G,Institut Perubatan Penerbangan (IPP) TUDM. Ketibaan beliau disambut oleh Pengarah IPP TUDM, Brig Jen (Dr) Mohamed Haizar bin Haron. Taklimat turut disampaikan oleh Ketua Bahagian Kesihatan IPP TUDM, Kol (Dr) Saravanan a/l Annamalai. Beliau turut mencuba General Aviation Trainer II (GAT II) iaitu simulator asas bagi melatih juruterbang TUDM mengenalpasti kecelaruan di udara. Beliau turut ditunjukkan demonstrasi High Performance Human Centrifuge (HPHC) iaitu simulator khas yang digunakan untuk melatih juruterbang menghadapi daya tindakan graviti (daya G) ketika melakukan “manuver” sekaligus mengurangkan risiko kemalangan kepada juruterbang dan pesawat semasa latihan.

Beliau mengakhiri lawatan kerja dengan lawatan ke Air Warfare Centre. YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan turut menyampaikan sumbangan kebajikan kepada anak istimewa warga TUDM MPOU, MPBU dan PU Subang.
Lawatan kerja ini adalah manifestasi amanat YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan yang memfokuskan empat (4) hala tuju Kementerian iaitu:

  1. Memperkasakan ATM dari segi aset dan persenjataan.
  2. Mempertingkatkan sistem teknologi yang digunakan oleh ATM agar selari dengan perkembangan teknologi terkini.
  3. Memperkasakan industri pertahanan agar Malaysia dapat menjadi sebuah negara yang kuat dalam industri pertahanan di rantau ini.
  4. Memperkasakan aspek kesejahteraan anggota ATM dan kebajikan veteran ATM.

    Lawatan kerja YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan untuk mengetahui dengan lebih dekat cabaran-cabaran yang dihadapi oleh TUDM khususnya diharap dapat membawa perubahan baharu di dalam memperkasakan aset ketenteraan sebagai organisasi yang ampuh di dalam mempertahankan kedaulatan negara tercinta.

    Lawatan kerja YB Menteri Kanan Pertahanan kali ini adalah lawatan kerja kedua ke atas TUDM selepas lawatan kerja ke PU Butterworth pada 20 Jun 2020.
