TERENGGANU: The 18th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (Para) (18 RMR (Para)) carried out a River Crossing Operation and a Raid Operation to recapture an important installation in the Battle Group Lion – 18 RAMD (Para) Operation scenario through the conduct of Exercise LION RIMBA Series 1/2022 and LION CLAW Series 1/2022 in the general area of Kampung Jeram Hulu, Manir from 19 to 21 Oct 2022.
This Counter Insurgency War (CIW) concept exercise is carried out in four phases, namely combat preparation, infiltration into enemy areas, rescuing important areas and raiding and recapturing important installations.
The exercise ended with an After Action Review (AAR) by the Commanding Officer of 18 RAR (Para).
Before the implementation of this field phase training, all members involved have gone through Pre Deployment Training (PDT) such as practical Battle Drill Ex (BDX), river crossing training and the implementation of Tactical Exercise Without Troop (TEWT).
This exercise is to strengthen the skills of dealing with the threat of insurgency in the spectrum of modern warfare and in preparation for Exercise GERAK CEPAT – OP PARA PREDATOR II Year 2022 which will start at the end of October to mid-November as desired by the Commander of 10 Bde (Para).
The implementation of this exercise is in line with the First Pillar of the 28th Army Commander’s Supreme Command which is Mission Continuity and Readiness.

18 RAMD (PARA) LAKSANA EKS LION RIMBA DAN EKS LION CLAW
TERENGGANU: Batalion Ke-18 Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (Para) (18 RAMD (Para)) melaksanakan Operasi Menyeberangi Sungai dan Operasi Serbuan bagi menawan semula instalasi penting di dalam senario Aturgerak Battle Group Lion – 18 RAMD (Para) melalui pelaksanaan Eksesais LION RIMBA Siri 1/2022 dan LION CLAW Siri 1/2022 di kawasan am Kampung Jeram Hulu, Manir mulai 19 hingga 21 Okt 2022.
Eksesais berkonsepkan Peperangan Melawan Insurgensi (PMI) ini dilaksanakan dalam empat fasa iaitu persiapan tempur, penyusupan ke kawasan musuh, menyelamatkan kawasan penting serta serbuan dan menawan kembali instalasi penting.
Pelaksanaan eksesais diakhiri dengan After Action Review (AAR) oleh Pegawai Memerintah 18 RAMD (Para).
Sebelum pelaksanaan latihan fasa medan ini, semua anggota yang terlibat telah melalui Pre Deployment Training (PDT) seperti praktikal Battle Drill Ex (BDX), latihan menyeberangi sungai dan pelaksanaan Tactical Exercise Without Troop (TEWT).
Eksesais yang dilaksanakan ini adalah untuk memperkasakan kemahiran menangani ancaman insurgensi dalam spektrum peperangan moden dan sebagai persediaan menghadapi Eksesais GERAK CEPAT – OP PARA PREDATOR II Tahun 2022 yang akan bermula pada hujung Oktober hingga pertengahan November sebagaimana dihasratkan oleh Panglima 10 Bgd (Para).
Pelaksanaan eksesais ini sejajar dengan Tonggak Pertama Perintah Ulung Panglima Tentera Darat Ke-28 iaitu Kelangsungan Misi Dan Kesiagaan.
