KUALA LUMPUR, 12 July 2023 – The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) received a special visit from Vice Admiral Aaron Beng Yao Cheng, Chief of Defence Force (CDF) of the Republic of Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) who is also the first Navy Commander appointed to the position of CDF last March 10. He arrived in Malaysia on 11 July 23 and began his working visit by paying a courtesy call on CDF General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affendi bin Buang TUDM at Wisma Pertahanan, today.
The official meeting which discussed several important agendas involving military affairs between the two countries was also attended by the top leadership of ATM, namely the Army Chief, General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman; Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Rahman bin Ayob and Deputy Chief of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Datuk Seri Hj Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris RMAF representing the Chief of Air Force and Director General of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Datuk Ahmad Norihan Bin Jalal.
Earlier, his arrival at Wisma Pertahanan was greeted according to military ceremonies by taking a salute and inspecting the Main Guard of Honor (KKU) from the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (1 RAMD) consisting of 3 officers and 103 members of Other Ranks led by Maj Nurul Fauzan bin Md Sabri.
Vice Admiral Aaron Beng Yao Cheng continued his official visit agenda by making a working visit to the Army’s Western Field Command Headquarters (MK PMBTD) located at Kem Perdana Sg Besi. His arrival at MK PMBTD was welcomed by the Army’s Western Field Commander (PMB TD), Lieutenant General Dato’ Tengku Muhammad Fauzi bin Tengku Ibrahim accompanied by senior officers of the headquarters and taken to the main meeting room to listen to a briefing on the roles and functions as well as the structure of the MK PMBTD command before ending the visit with the presentation of souvenirs and a signing session of the Guest Book.
This kind of visit is in line with the aspirations of the leadership of the ATM and the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia, particularly in increasing bilateral defence cooperation, expanding information sharing through various military platforms while also strengthening the already established good relations between Malaysia and Singapore in particular.

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 Julai 2023 – Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) telah menerima lawatan ulung daripada Vice Admiral Aaron Beng Yao Cheng, Panglima Angkatan Tentera Republik Singapura (Singapore Armed Forces) yang juga merupakan Panglima Tentera Laut pertama dilantik menjawat jawatan Panglima Angkatan Tentera republik berkenaan pada tanggal 10 Mac yang lalu. Beliau yang tiba di Malaysia pada 11 Julai 23 telah memulakan lawatan kerjanya dengan membuat kunjungan hormat ke atas Panglima Angkatan Tentera, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affendi bin Buang TUDM bertempat di Wisma Pertahanan, hari ini.
Pertemuan rasmi yang membincangkan beberapa agenda penting melibatkan hal ehwal ketenteraan di antara kedua-dua buah Negara turut disertai oleh barisan kepimpinan tertinggi ATM iaitu Panglima Tentera Darat, Jeneral Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman; Panglima Tentera Laut, Laksamana Tan Sri Abdul Rahman bin Ayob dan Timbalan Panglima Tentera Udara, Leftenan Jeneral Datuk Seri Hj Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris TUDM yang mewakili Panglima Tentera Udara serta Ketua Pengarah Perisikan Pertahanan, Leftenan Jeneral Datuk Ahmad Norihan Bin Jalal.
Terdahulu, ketibaan beliau di Wisma Pertahanan telah disambut mengikut istiadat ketenteraan dengan mengambil tabik hormat serta memeriksa Kawalan Kehormatan Utama (KKU) dari Batalion Pertama Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (1 RAMD) yang terdiri daripada 3 orang pegawai serta 103 anggota Lain-Lain Pangkat (LLP) diketuai oleh Mej Nurul Fauzan bin Md Sabri.
Vice Admiral Aaron Beng Yao Cheng meneruskan agenda lawatan rasmi beliau dengan membuat lawatan kerja ke Markas Pemerintahan Medan Barat Tentera Darat (MK PMBTD) bertempat di Kem Perdana Sg Besi. Ketibaan beliau di MK PMBTD telah disambut oleh Panglima Medan Barat Tentera Darat (PMB TD), Leftenan Jeneral Dato’ Tengku Muhammad Fauzi bin Tengku Ibrahim diiringi pegawai-pegawai kanan markas berkenaan dan dibawa ke Bilik Mesyuarat Utama pasukan bagi mendengar taklimat yang memaparkan peranan dan fungsi serta struktur pemerintahan MK PMBTD khasnya sebelum mengakhiri lawatan tersebut dengan penyampaian cendera kenangan dan sesi menandatangani Buku Lawatan.
Lawatan seumpama ini adalah sejajar dengan aspirasi pucuk pimpinan ATM dan Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia khususnya dalam meningkatkan kerjasama pertahanan dua hala, memperluas perkongsian maklumat menerusi pelbagai platform ketenteraan di samping memperkukuhkan hubungan baik yang sedia terjalin di antara Malaysia dan Singapura khasnya.
