Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that the development of assets and housing for the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) aligns with the government’s goal of safeguarding the welfare of its members.
The Prime Minister mentioned that the goals supporting the “Madani Malaysia Concept” will provide benefits not only to the military personnel but also to their families and the communities around the military camps.
“I hope this will serve as a catalyst to ensure the growth of the nation’s defense forces remains strong in ensuring the safety of the people is at its best,” he said in a Facebook post today.
This message followed the Prime Minister’s attendance at the Signing Ceremony for the Transfer and Redevelopment of the Armed Forces Police Training Center (PULAPOT), Army Red Warrior Unit (ARW), and the 12th Company of the Royal Military Police (12KPTD), as well as the Development of One Member One House (SASaR) Housing at the Perdana Putra Building today.
Also present were the Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan; the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali; and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, Datuk Seri Isham Ishak.
“I am informed that this agreement involves the transfer and redevelopment of MAF assets, including the training center for the Royal Military Police, PULAPOT, the ARW Acrobatic Team Headquarters, and Military Family Housing (RKAT), as well as related facilities,” he said.
“The improved complex with existing facilities will undoubtedly help defense personnel, including MAF members, MAF veterans, and civilian staff at the Ministry of Defense, to own comfortable homes in Kuala Lumpur below market prices,” the Prime Minister added.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) announced that the new complex to be built in the Si Rusa District in Port Dickson will involve the construction of headquarters offices, officer and non-commissioned officer accommodations, a multipurpose hall, training rooms, lodgings, a parade ground, an obstacle course, a shooting range, and other facilities that will benefit PULAPOT and ARW.
For MAF personnel relocating, a total of 213 units of RKAT of various classes will be provided with complete facilities such as a community complex, a surau (prayer room), an Islamic primary school, a kindergarten, a daycare center, a BAKAT House, and a sports arena.
