KUALA LUMPUR, 3rd October 2024 – The Deputy Minister of Defence, YB Adly Zahari, conducted a visit and attended a reception hosted on the Italian Navy’s multi-purpose ship, ITS “MONTECUCCOLI.” The ship is currently on a six-month mission in the Indo-Pacific region, with Port Klang being one of 13 ports in 11 countries that it is visiting.

During the visit to the ship, YB Tuan Haji Adly was given a tour of the entire vessel and received briefings about its systems from the commanding officer, Commander Alessandro Troia, accompanied by His Excellency Massimo Rustico, the Italian Ambassador to Malaysia.

The visit to ITS “MONTECUCCOLI” and the participation in the reception reflects the strong defense cooperation between Malaysia and Italy. This activity aligns with the Third Pillar of the National Defense Strategy, namely Credible Partnerships, as outlined in the Defense White Paper.


LAWATAN SERTA MENGHADIRI MAJLIS RESEPSI DI ITS “MONTECUCCOLI” OLEH YB TIMBALAN MENTERI PERTAHANAN

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 Oktober 2024 – Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan, YB Adly Zahari telah mengadakan lawatan dan menghadiri majlis resepsi yang dianjurkan di kapal pelbagai fungsi Tentera Laut Itali, ITS “MONTECUCCOLI.” Kapal tersebut sedang melaksanakan misi selama 6 bulan di rantau Indo-Pasifik, dan Port Klang merupakan salah satu daripada 13 pelabuhan di 11 negara yang disinggahinya.

Semasa lawatan ke atas kapal tersebut, YB Tuan Haji Adly dibawa melawat seluruh kapal dan menerima penerangan mengenai sistem-sistem yang terdapat di kapal itu daripada pegawai memerintah, Komander Alessandro Troia, dengan diiringi oleh TYT Massimo Rustico, Duta Besar Itali ke Malaysia.

Lawatan ke atas kapal ITS “MONTECUCCOLI” serta penyertaan dalam majlis resepsi ini mencerminkan hubungan kerjasama pertahanan yang erat antara Malaysia dan Itali. Aktiviti ini juga selaras dengan Tonggak Ketiga Strategi Pertahanan Negara, iaitu Perkongsian Berwibawa, seperti yang digariskan dalam Kertas Putih Pertahanan.
