LUMUT, 8 May 2025 – The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) 2 successfully underwent its technical downslip, marking its first official entry into the water. This critical milestone follows the signing of the Downslip Safety Checklist earlier in the day.
The technical downslip marks the beginning of a new phase in the ship’s development, as part of the Royal Malaysian Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship Programme.
The event was witnessed by key stakeholders including LUNAS CEO Ir. Azhar Jumaat, LUNAS LCS Project Director Capt. (Rtd) Rosnizam Che Puteh, RMN Head of the Construction Engineering Section (KSKP) Capt. Ir. Malik Hj Sulaiman, Naval Group (NG) LCS Programme Director Mr. Denis Garnier, and Bureau Veritas (BV) representative Mr. Fazmizal Ishak.
This milestone reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of all involved, and reinforces the LCS programme’s commitment to Defining Excellence in naval construction.
