In response to the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, the Malaysian Battalion 850-7 (MALBATT 850-7) peacekeeping force in Lebanon is ready to provide humanitarian and disaster relief (HADR) if the commitment is needed by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Chief of Defence Forces General Tan Sri Affendi Buang said the peacekeepers were still continue their operations as usual under UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
“MAF is always committed to carry out duties and responsibilities in helping to maintain peace in the country.

Panglima Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) Jeneral Tan Sri Affendi Buang berkata, pasukan pengaman berkenaan masih meneruskan operasi seperti biasa di bawah Resolusi 1701 Majlis Keselamatan PBB.
“ATM sentiasa komited terhadap pelaksanaan tugas serta tanggungjawab dalam membantu memelihara keamanan di negara berkenaan.
