His Royal Highness XVI, His Excellency Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibn The late Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, at the Royal Palace today.

His Majesty, who was proclaimed as the sixth Sultan of Pahang on January 15, succeeded Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, who was selected as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the Special Meeting of the King’s Council on January 24.

His Majesty recited the oath and signed his oath of office as the 16th of His Majesty on January 31.

Also present at this historic ceremony was Air Force Commander General Tan Sri Dato ‘Sri Hj Affendi bin Throng RMAF and his wife, His Highness Tengku Princess Teja Pahang Mrs Sri Hajah Tengku Muhaini the late Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah.

May the reign of Your Majesty be given the grace and blessing of Allah Almighty.

Istiadat Pertabalan Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI, Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, di Istana Negara hari ini.

Seri Paduka yang dimasyhurkan sebagai Sultan Pahang keenam pada 15 Januari menggantikan Almarhum Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, dipilih sebagai Yang di-Pertuan Agong ke-16 pada Mesyuarat Khas Majlis Raja-Raja, 24 Januari lepas.

Seri Paduka melafaz sumpah dan menandatangani surat sumpah jawatan sebagai Yang di-Pertuan Agong ke-16 pada 31 Januari lepas.

Turut hadir menyaksikan istiadat yang penuh bersejarah ini Panglima Tentera Udara, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj Affendi bin Buang TUDM dan isteri, Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Seri Teja Pahang Puan Sri Hajah Tengku Muhaini binti Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah.
