Johor Bahru, 13 June 2021 – The Armed Forces remains committed to helping the country deal with the spread of COVID-19 which is now seen as increasingly worrying as the country seeks to complete the National Immunization Program to build group immunity among all Malaysians.

Based on the current situation in several states, the MAF through the Armed Forces Health Service (PKAT) is now mobilizing the next Field Hospital at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital Johor Bahru (HSAJB) to help overcome the problem of lack of beds in treating COVID-19 cases for categories 3, 4 and 5 in the state concerned.

Today, Senior Minister of Defence, YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Minister of Health Malaysia (MOH), YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Adham bin Baba, Menteri Besar of Johor, YAB Datuk Haji Hasni bin Mohamad and Chief of Defence Forces, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj. Affendi bin Buang RMAF went down to the field to inspect the preparation and readiness of the field hospital which was located at the HSAJB parking lot.

Also present at the survey were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, the Director General of Health of the Ministry of Health, the Chief of Army, the Director General of MAF Health Services, the Commander of 3 Division and officers from the Ministry of Health.

The MAF has mobilized the personnel and assets of the MAF Field Hospital in HSAJB starting on June 8 where the installation work of the field hospital was completed on June 9, 2021. A total of 6 officers and 33 members from the Second Medical Battalion (2 Bn Ubat), led by Major (Dr) Khir Reza as the Commander of the hospital in addition to 16 officers and members from the 7th Malaysian Infantry Brigade (7 Bde), Mahkota Camp, Kluang were also involved in the organization and preparation of the hospital.

This field treatment complex, which is placed under the command of Commander 7 Bde, is also assisted by NADMA, MOH and the State Disaster Committee in ensuring the smooth full operation of this hospital which is scheduled for 15 June 2021.

A total of 2 treatment tent complexes capable of accommodating 60 COVID-19 patients for categories 3 and 4 as well as an ICU complex capable of accommodating 6 patients have been completed. The hospital as a whole is capable of increasing to 100 COVID-19 patient beds for categories 3 and 4 and up to 12 beds for ICU treatment.

All of these field treatment complexes will receive oxygen supply directly from the HSAJB Main Building and each patient bed will have its own oxygen supply. The innovation of this equipment, which is supervised by the Engineering Division of the MOH, has been able to help reduce the need for additional logistics for the use of large oxygen barrels. In addition, additional works involving Civil, Electrical and Mechanical scopes were assisted by JKR, TNB, Syarikat Air Johor and Medivest.

This MAF Field Hospital was completed in such a short time and is able to provide maximum impact in the treatment of critical cases COVID-19 for the State of Johor. Taking into account the congestion of HSAJB at some time even before the pandemic hit, the Field Hospital Complex is also able to act as a decanting center for non-COVID-19 cases in the future if the cases of this epidemic decrease and can be well controlled.

Johor Bahru, 13 Jun 2021 – ATM terus komited membantu Negara menangani penularan wabak COVID-19 yang kini dilihat semakin membimbangkan semasa Negara berusaha melengkapkan Program Imunisasi Kebangsaan bagi membentuk imuniti kelompok di seluruh rakyat Malaysia.

Berdasarkan situasi semasa di beberapa negeri, ATM melalui Perkhidmatan Kesihatan Angkatan Tentera (PKAT) kini mengaturgerakkan Hospital Medan seterusnya di Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru (HSAJB) bagi membantu mengatasi masalah kekurangan katil dalam merawat kes-kes COVID-19 untuk kategori 3, 4 dan 5 di negeri berkenaan.

Hari ini, Menteri Kanan Pertahanan, YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Menteri Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Adham bin Baba, Menteri Besar Johor, YAB Datuk Haji Hasni bin Mohamad dan Panglima Angkatan Tentera, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj. Affendi bin Buang TUDM turun padang meninjau persiapan serta kesiagaan hospital medan berkenaan yang ditempatkan di perkarangan pakir HSAJB.

Turut bersama tinjauan ini adalah Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pertahanan, Ketua Setiausaha KKM, Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan KKM, Panglima Tentera Darat, Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Kesihatan ATM, Panglima 3 Divisyen dan para pegawai dari KKM.

ATM telah mengaturgerak anggota dan aset Hospital Medan ATM di HSAJB bermula pada 8 Jun lalu di mana kerja-kerja pemasangan hospital medan berkenaan selesai pada 9 Jun 2021. Seramai 6 pegawai dan 33 anggota daripada Batalion Kedua Perubatan (2 Bn Ubat), diketuai oleh Mejar (Dr) Khir Reza sebagai Komander hospital tersebut di samping 16 pegawai dan anggota daripada Briged Ke-7 Infantri Malaysia (7 Bgd), Kem Mahkota, Kluang juga terlibat dalam aturgerak dan penyediaan hospital berkenaan.

Kompleks rawatan medan ini yang diletakkan di bawah pemerintahan Panglima 7 Bgd, turut dibantu oleh NADMA, KKM dan Jawatankuasa Bencana Negeri dalam memastikan kelancaran pengoperasian sepenuhnya hospital ini yang dijadualkan pada 15 Jun 2021.

Sebanyak 2 kompleks khemah rawatan yang mampu menempatkan 60 pesakit COVID-19 bagi kategori 3 dan 4 serta sebuah kompleks ICU yang mampu menempatkan 6 pesakit telah siap di dirikan. Hospital ini secara keseluruhannya berupaya di tingkatkan kepada 100 katil pesakit COVID-19 bagi kategori 3 dan 4 dan sehingga 12 katil bagi rawatan ICU.

Kesemua kompleks rawatan medan ini akan menerima bekalan oksigen terus daripada Bangunan Utama HSAJB dan setiap katil pesakit akan mempunyai bekalan oksigen tersendiri. Inovasi kelengkapan ini yang di selia oleh Bahagian Kejuruteraan KKM, telah dapat membantu mengurangkan keperluan lojistik tambahan bagi penggunaan tong-tong oksigen yang banyak. Di samping itu, kerja-kerja tambahan melibatkan skop Sivil, Elektrikal dan Mekanikal telah dibantu oleh JKR, TNB, Syarikat Air Johor dan Medivest.

Hospital Medan ATM ini di siapkan dengan masa yang begitu singkat dan mampu memberikan impak maksimum di dalam rawatan kes-kes kritikal COVID-19 bagi Negeri Johor. Mengambil kira kesesakan HSAJB pada sebilang masa walaupun ketika sebelum pandemik melanda, Kompleks Hospital Medan ini juga mampu bertindak sebagai decanting centre bagi kes-kes bukan COVID-19 di masa hadapan sekiranya kes-kes wabak ini menurun serta dapat dikawal dengan baik.
