KOTA KINABALU, Oct 22 – The RMN’s third Littoral Mission Ship (LMS) Commissioning Ceremony, the KD BADIK, was successfully conducted at the RMN Kota Kinabalu Base Jetty today.
The ceremony was officiated by the Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany. In the ceremony, Tan Sri Mohd Reza read out the Accreditation Order and then put the insignia of the Commanding Officer to Commander Mohd Sharedzwan bin Saharudin RMN, the first Commanding Officer of KD BADIK.
Works on KD BADIK started on 19 September 2019 in Wuhan, China and subsequently launched to the surface on 28 October 2020. The ship was handed over to the Government of Malaysia on 14 September 2021 and the naming ceremony was held on 17 September 2021 by Mrs. Rohana binti Osman, wife Malaysian Defense Adviser in China.
On 18 September 2021, KD BADIK sailed 1,836 nautical miles to return home. The ship arrived safely at the RMN Kota Kinabalu Base on 25 September 2021.

KD BADIK will be under the operation and administration of the Eastern Fleet Command Headquarters to further strengthen Malaysia’s maritime surveillance, especially in Eastern Malaysian waters.
Apart from KD BADIK, the RMN has previously received KD KERIS and KD SUNDANG which were also built in Wuhan, China. All three ships were placed in the 11th LMS Squadron of the RMN.

𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗨𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗞𝗗 𝗕𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗞
KOTA KINABALU, 22 Okt – Upacara Pentauliahan Littoral Mission Ship (LMS) ketiga TLDM iaitu Kapal Diraja BADIK telah selamat disempurnakan di Jeti Pangkalan TLDM Kota Kinabalu hari ini.
Upacara tersebut telah disempurnakan oleh Panglima Tentera Laut, Laksamana Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany. Dalam upacara tersebut, Tan Sri Mohd Reza telah membacakan Perintah Pentauliahan dan kemudian memakaikan insignia Pegawai Memerintah kepada Komander Mohd Sharedzwan bin Saharudin TLDM, Pegawai Memerintah pertama KD BADIK.
KD BADIK telah mula dibina pada 19 September 2019 di Wuhan, China dan seterusnya dilancarkan ke permukaan air pada 28 Oktober 2020. Kapal telah diserahkan kepada Kerajaan Malaysia pada 14 September 2021 dan upacara penamaan telah diadakan pada 17 September 2021 oleh Puan Rohana binti Osman, isteri Penasihat Pertahanan Malaysia di China.
Pada 18 September 2021, KD BADIK telah belayar sejauh 1,836 batu nautika untuk pulang ke tanah air. Kapal telah selamat tiba di Pangkalan TLDM Kota Kinabalu pada 25 September 2021.
KD BADIK akan bernaung di bawah operasi dan pentadbiran Markas Pemerintahan Armada Timur bagi menguatkan lagi pengawasan maritim Malaysia terutamanya di perairan Malaysia Timur.
Selain KD BADIK, TLDM sebelum ini telah menerima KD KERIS dan KD SUNDANG yang juga dibina di Wuhan, China. Ketiga-tiga kapal in diletakkan dalam Skuadron LMS ke-11 TLDM.
