U.S. Army Pacific and Malaysia in Exercise KERIS STRIKE 2021

KEDAH, 1 November 2021 – Exercise Keris Strike Series 26/2021 was officially opened at Hobart Camp, Unit Lapang Sasar Gurun, Kedah on 1 November 2021. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Commander of the Sixth Malaysian Infantry Brigade, Brig Gen Mohd Akib bin Hj Mohd Yusof in an Opening Parade event attended by a contingent from 4 RRR representing the Malaysian Army (TDM) and a contingent from the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC).

KERIS STRIKE is a series of joint exercises held annually between TDM and USARPAC under the Bilateral Training and Consultative Group (BITACG) program in further strengthening military cooperation between the two countries. In this series, TDM has given trust and responsibility to the Headquarters of the Malaysian Sixth Infantry Brigade and the patron team from the Fourth Battalion of the Royal Ranger as the main participants of the exercise and will join USARPAC to conduct Combat Survival and Combat Tracking training as well as TDM’s main focus in this bilateral exercise; to implement an effective learning system either in academic or practical form with the aim of increasing the level of expertise and experience of the participants.

The Opening Ceremony was officially officiated by the Commander of the Sixth Malaysian Infantry Brigade, Brig Gen Mohd Akib bin Hj Mohd Yusof and witnessed by Colonel Stephen Browne, United States Defense Attache in Malaysia. In his speech, he was very pleased with the presence of the USARPAC delegation to undergo bilateral training with TDM Malaysia.

EKSESAIS KERIS STRIKE SIRI 2021 ‘’KOLABORASI KETENTERAAN DUA NEGARA” KINI BERMULA

KEDAH, 1 November 2021 – Eksesais Keris Strike Siri 26/2021 telah dirasmikan pembukaannya di Kem Hobart, Unit Lapang Sasar Gurun, Kedah pada 1 November 2021. Upacara perasmian disempurnakan oleh Panglima Briged Keenam Infantri Malaysia, Brig Jen Mohd Akib bin Hj Mohd Yusof dalam satu acara Perbarisan Pembukaan yang disertai oleh kontinjen dari 4 RRD yang mewakili Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) dan kontinjen dari United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC).

KERIS STRIKE adalah siri eksesais gabungan yang diadakan setiap tahun diantara TDM dan USARPAC di bawah program Bilateral Training and Consultative Group (BITACG) dalam memperkukuhkan lagi hubungan kerjasama ketenteraan diantara dua Negara. Dalam kesinambungan ini, TDM telah memberi kepercayaan dan tanggungjawab kepada Markas Briged Keenam Infantri Malaysia dan pasukan naungan dari Batalion Keempat Renjer Diraja sebagai pelaku utama eksesais dan akan bergabung dengan USARPAC untuk melaksanakan latihan berkonsepkan Combat Survival dan Combat Tracking serta fokus utama TDM dalam latihan biliteral ini akan menerapkan sistem pembelajaran yang berkesan samada dalam bentuk akademik mahupun secara praktikal bertujuan meningkatkan tahap kepakaran dan pengalaman kepada peserta.

Upacara Pembukaan dengan rasminya telah disempurnakan oleh Panglima Briged Keenam Infantri Malaysia, Brig Jen Mohd Akib bin Hj Mohd Yusof disaksikan oleh Kolonel Stephen Browne, United States Defence Attache in Malaysia. Dalam ucapannya, beliau berasa amat berbesar hati dengan kehadiran pihak delegasi USARPAC bagi menjalani latihan bilateral dengan TDM malahan beliau turut berpendapat bahawa eksesais ini dapat mengeratkan lagi semangat kerjasama dan perkongsian Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) dalam melaksanakan Operasi Hutan dengan persekitaran serta cuaca di Malaysia.
