ULU TEBRAU, 24 March 2022 – The SEMANGAT BERSATU Exercise Series 26/2022 involving the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Singapore Army (SA) official closing ceremony was held at the Felda Ulu Tebrau General Area today.
The Chief of Army, General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Zamrose bin Mohd Zain, together with his counterpart, Singapore Chief of Army, Brigadier General Neo Chin Wee David and delegations from both countries were present to witness the ‘Battalion Final Attack’ held at the training area.
This exercise is an annual and bilateral exercise involving both countries between TDM and the SA. TDM’s involvement involves the Sixth Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment (6 RRR), the Fifth Battalion of the Royal Malay Army Regiment (5 RMR), the 10th Battalion of the Royal Malay Army Regiment (10 RMR), the 501st Territorial Army Regiment (501 TA Regiment) and the Malaysian Third Infantry Division Troops (3 Div Troops). Meanwhile, the SA involvement consisted of officers and members from the 1st Battalion Singapore Guards.
The exercise, which began on 18 March 2022, had the concept of ‘Operation Offensive’ by carrying out two phases of conventional warfare.
Throughout the implementation of this exercise, attack scenarios in the ‘Offensive Phase’ were conducted to test the level of competence and knowledge of each exercise participant from both countries.
Tan Sri COA in his speech explained that this exercise aims to test the function of the infantry team with the involvement of various elements of Combat and Combat Support in dealing with any threats as well as achieving bilateral cooperation among countries.
Thus, such military cooperation is expected to produce officers and members who are highly competent and able to carry out integrated and joint offensive operations, as well as to strengthen relations and enhance military cooperation between the two Armed Forces by sharing knowledge, equipment technology and expertise.
In the Exercise Closing Parade, the TOHA stripping event was carried out by COA SA. To conclude the Closing Parade of the Exercise, a momento exchange session was also held between the Army Commanders of the two countries.
Indeed, such bilateral exercises are in line with the Fourth Pillar of the 28th Commander-in-Chief of the Army, namely “Strengthening Defense Relations” where it focuses on the strengthening of defense cooperation at the regional and international levels.
EKSESAIS SEMANGAT BERSATU SIRI 26/2022 PERKUKUH HUBUNGAN TDM DAN TDS
ULU TEBRAU, 24 Mac 2022 – Eksesais Semangat Bersatu Siri 26/2022 yang melibatkan Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) dan Tentera Darat Singapura (TDS) secara rasminya melabuhkan tirai latihan yang dilaksanakan di Kawasan Am Felda Ulu Tebrau pada hari ini.
Panglima Tentera Darat, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Zamrose bin Mohd Zain bersama rakan sejawatnya, Panglima Tentera Darat Singapura, Brigedier Jeneral Neo Chin Wee David serta delegasi kedua-dua negara hadir menyaksikan ‘Serangan Akhir Batalion’ yang diadakan di kawasan latihan berkenaan.
Eksesais ini merupakan eksesais tahunan dan bilateral melibatkan kedua-dua negara antara TDM dan TDS. Penglibatan TDM melibatkan Batalion Keenam Rejimen Renjer Diraja (6 RRD), Batalion Kelima Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (5 RAMD), Batalion Ke-10 Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (10 RAMD), Rejimen 501 Askar Wataniah (Rej 501 AW) dan Trup Divisyen Ketiga Infantri Malaysia (Trup 3 Div). Manakala, penglibatan TDS terdiri dari pegawai dan anggota dari 1st Batalion Singapore Guard.
Eksesais yang bermula pada 18 Mac 2022 ini berkonsepkan ‘Operasi Ofensif’ dengan melaksanakan dua fasa peperangan konvensional.
Sepanjang pelaksanaan eksesais ini, senario pelaksanaan serangan di dalam ‘Fasa Ofensif’ telah dilaksanakan untuk menguji tahap kecekapan dan pengetahuan setiap peserta eksesais dari kedua-dua negara.
Tan Sri PTD dalam ucapannya menjelaskan bahawa latihan ini bertujuan menguji fungsi pasukan infantri dengan penglibatan pelbagai elemen Tempur dan Bantuan Tempur dalam menangani sebarang ancaman di samping mencapai kerjasama bilateral sesama negara.
Justeru, kerjasama hubungan ketenteraan sebegini diharapkan dapat melahirkan pegawai dan anggota yang mempunyai kompetensi yang tinggi serta mampu melaksanakan operasi ofensif dengan secara integrated dan bersama di samping dapat mengukuhkan hubungan dan meningkatkan kerjasama ketenteraan diantara kedua-dua Tentera Darat dengan berkongsi pengetahuan, teknologi peralatan dan kepakaran.
Dalam Perbarisan Penutup Eksesais, acara menanggalkan TOHA telah disempurnakan oleh PTD TDS. Sebagai mengakhiri Perbarisan Penutup Eksesais turut diadakan sesi pertukaran momento antara Panglima Tentera Darat kedua-dua negara.
Sesungguhnya, latihan bilateral sebegini adalah sejajar dengan Tonggak Keempat Perintah Ulung Panglima Tentera Darat Ke-28 iaitu “Pengukuhan Hubungan Pertahanan” dimana ia menumpukan kepada aspek pengukuhan kerjasama pertahanan di peringkat serantau dan antarabangsa.
