KUALA LUMPUR, 23 September 2022 – The Chief of Army, General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Zamrose bin Mohd Zain attended the Inaugural Parade of the change of Name and Logo Designation of the Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation (MDIO) which was officiated by the Chief of Defence Force, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affendi bin Buang TUDM is located at Kementah Camp Parade Ground today.

Also present were the Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany, Chief of Air Force, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohd Asghar Khan bin Goriman Khan RMAF, Director-General of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Datuk Ahmad Norihan bin Jalal and several other senior officers.

The parade which consisted of 108 officers and 414 Other Ranks from DISD was led by Brigadier General Saharudin bin Harun from the 92 Special Branch Headquarters. The Deputy Commander of the Parade is Colonel Faridhulathroth bin Haji Hashim from the Directorate of Security and Response Risk while the Adjutant of the Parade is Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Afiq bin Haji Ahmad Hasbullah from the Directorate of Analysis. The parade consisting of 4 detachments was accompanied by the Central Band of the Royal Ranger Regiment.

A little bit of history about the DISD, this organization was officially created on 1 October 1981 to replace the Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID) and the main role of the DISD at that time was to gather and produce intelligence products to deal with the threat of the Communist Party of Malaya (PKM).

The 600th session of the Armed Forces Council on 13 June 2022 has officially approved the change of designation of the Defence Intelligence Staff Division to the Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organization (MDIO). A new logo has also been created as an MDIO identity. MDIO will continue to excel in supporting the intelligence needs of the Malaysian Armed Forces.

PERBARISAN PENUKARAN DESIGNASI NAMA DAN LOGO MALAYSIAN DEFENCE INTELLIGENCE ORGANISATION (MDIO)

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 September 2022 – Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD), Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah menghadiri Perbarisan Perasmian Penukaran Designasi Nama dan Logo Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation (MDIO) yang disempurnakan oleh Panglima Angkatan Tentera (PAT), Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affendi bin Buang TUDM bertempat di Padang Kawad Kem Kementah hari ini.

Turut hadir adalah Panglima Tentera Laut (PTL), Laksamana Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany, Panglima Tentera Udara (PTU), Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohd Asghar Khan bin Goriman Khan TUDM, Ketua Pengarah Perisikan Pertahanan (KPPP), Leftenan Jeneral Datuk Ahmad Norihan bin Jalal serta beberapa lagi barisan pegawai kanan.

Perbarisan yang dianggotai seramai 108 pegawai dan 414 anggota Lain-Lain Pangkat (LLP) dari BSPP telah diketuai oleh Brigedier Jeneral Saharudin bin Harun dari Markas 92 Anggota Tentera Cawangan Khas. Penolong Ketua Perbarisan ialah Kolonel Faridhulathroth bin Haji Hashim dari Direktorat Keselamatan dan Risik Balas manakala Ajutan Perbarisan ialah Leftenan Kolonel Ahmad Afiq bin Haji Ahmad Hasbullah dari Direktorat Analisis. Perbarisan terdiri daripada 4 detasmen ini telah diiringi oleh Pancaragam Pusat Rejimen Renjer Diraja.

Serba sedikit sejarah mengenai BSPP, organisasi ini telah diwujudkan secara rasmi pada 1 Oktober 1981 menggantikan Joint Inteliigence Directorate (JID) dan peranan utama BSPP ketika itu ialah untuk mengumpulkan serta menghasilkan produk perisikan bagi menangani ancaman Parti Komunis Malaya (PKM).

Sidang Majlis Angkatan Tentera (MAT) Ke-600 pada 13 Jun 2022 yang lalu telah meluluskan secara rasmi penukaran designasi nama Bahagian Staf Perisikan Pertahanan kepada Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation (MDIO). Logo baharu juga telah diwujudkan sebagai satu identiti MDIO. MDIO akan terus unggul menyokong keperluan perisikan Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM).
