RMN Ships are Old and Requires Replacements – Sultan Selangor

SHAH ALAM, 5 January 23 – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah expressed his concern for national security assets, especially the ships of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) that are old and need to be replaced.

The concern was expressed by His Majesty during a meeting with the Chief of Navy (CoN), Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza Mohd Sany.

Through a post on Selangor Royal Office’s Facebook, His Majesty as Captain Yang Dipertua TLDM said during the meeting that the exchange of aged assets must be done in order to ensure that the sovereignty of the country’s waters is always preserved and in a state of readiness.

The Sultan of Selangor agreed to meet Mohd Reza in conjunction with his retirement at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.

He was appointed as CoN on 30 November 2018 and will hand over his duties to his successor on 23 January.

Mohd Reza also prayed to introduce the Deputy CoN, Vice Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman Ayob who will replace him as the 18th Chief of Navy.
