Malaysian Chief of Army General Tan Sri Zamrose to Step Down on 21 March

MERSING, Feb 2 – The leadership of the Malaysian Army will change on 21 March. The Chief of Army, General Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain, stated this while delivering a speech in conjunction with the 28th Army Chief Appreciation Parade at the 21st Special Service Group (GGK) Headquarters Parade Ground, Camp Iskandar, Mersing, today.

“21 March, 2023 will be the end point of my career in the Malaysian Army and Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF),

“On that date, I will hand over the reins of the Army to my successor before finishing my service on 21 September, 2023,” he said.

Zamrose was appointed as the 28th Chief of Army on 11 June 2020.

This appreciation parade was attended by a total of 19 officers and 175 members. The concept of this combat parade involved the Guard of Honor of the 21st Special Service Group as well as 4 detachments from the 11th Special Service Regiment, the 22nd Commando Regiment, the Combined Detachment of the 21st Special Service Group and the 21st Commando Regiment.
