RMN 89th Anniversary Parade at Lumut Naval Base

LUMUT, 27 Apr – The Parade Ceremony in conjunction with the 89th Anniversary of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) was held at the KD PELANDOK Parade Ground, RMN Lumut, Perak today.

The ceremonial parade was witnessed by the Chief of Navy, Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman bin Ayob. Also witnessing the parade were the Deputy Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri bin Zali, Commander of the Western Fleet, Vice Admiral Dato’ Abu Bakar bin Md Ajis, Commander of the Eastern Fleet, Vice Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Hj Muhammad Ruzelme bin Hj Ahmad Fahimy and the ranks of the RMN Admiralty Committee and the people of The Navy People of RMN Lumut Base.

This time the parade consists of 16 contingents involving 61 Officers and 812 Other Rank Members led by Kdr Lim Kim Tat TLDM and assisted by the TLDM Central Band led by Lt Kdr Mohd Shamram bin Ramli TLDM.

This parade has made its own history because for the first time eight RMN Regiment Colours namely KD PELANDOK, KD MALAYA, KD PANGLIMA HITAM, KD SRI SANDAKAN, KD RAJAWALI, KD SRI SEMPORNA, KD DUYONG and the 23rd Frigate Squadron were paraded to celebrate the 89th RMN Day.

In line with the theme of this year’s RMN celebration “RMN Ready, Preserved Sovereignty”, a static exhibition of defence and support assets were also held at the KD PELANDOK Parade Ground.

The static exhibition assets include two Maritime Operation Helicopters (HOM) from Squadron 503 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, two Loaders, an RMN Fire Truck, two motor scramblers and two Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB) of the Marine Special Forces (PASKAL).

The Navy Chief also completed the ceremony of presenting trophies and awards to outstanding units and citizens throughout 2022.

A total of 40 officers and members were awarded the National Sovereignty Medal (PKN) in recognition and appreciation for the service of military personnel involved in OP DAULAT following the invasion of Lahad Datu, Sabah. While the following are the winners of trophies and awards in conjunction with RMN’s 89th Anniversary:

The Navy Chief and his wife had the opportunity to spend friendly time with the residents of the base who were present and he also presented duit raya to the children of The Navy People.

LUMUT, 27 Apr – Istiadat Perbarisan sempena menyambut Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) TLDM Ke-89 telah diadakan di Padang Kawad KD PELANDOK, Pangkalan TLDM Lumut, Perak hari ini.

Upacara perbarisan penuh istiadat itu telah disempurnakan oleh Panglima Tentera Laut, Laksamana Datuk Abdul Rahman bin Ayob. Turut menyaksikan perbarisan adalah Timbalan Panglima Tentera Laut, Laksamana Madya Datuk Sabri bin Zali, Panglima Armada Barat, Laksamana Madya Dato’ Abu Bakar bin Md Ajis, Panglima Armada Timur, Laksamana Madya Dato’ Pahlawan Hj Muhammad Ruzelme bin Hj Ahmad Fahimy dan barisan Jawatankuasa Laksamana TLDM serta warga The Navy People Pangkalan TLDM Lumut.

Perbarisan kali ini terdiri daripada 16 kontinjen melibatkan 61 Pegawai dan 812 Anggota Lain-lain Pangkat yang diketuai oleh Kdr Lim Kim Tat TLDM serta dibantu Pancaragam Pusat TLDM yang dipimpin oleh Lt Kdr Mohd Shamram bin Ramli TLDM.

Perbarisan kali ini telah melakar sejarah tersendiri kerana buat julung kalinya lapan Panji-Panji Regimen TLDM iaitu KD PELANDOK, KD MALAYA, KD PANGLIMA HITAM, KD SRI SANDAKAN, KD RAJAWALI, KD SRI SEMPORNA, KD DUYONG dan Skuadron Frigate Ke-23 telah diarak bagi menyemarakkan lagi sambutan Hari TLDM Ke-89.

Bersesuaian dengan tema sambutan HUT kali ini “TLDM Siaga, Kedaulatan Terpelihara”, pameran statik aset pertahanan dan sokongan turut diadakan di Padang Kawad KD PELANDOK.

Aset-aset pameran statik itu merangkumi dua buah Helikopter Operasi Maritim (HOM) dari Skuadron 503 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, dua buah Loader, sebuah lori Bomba TLDM, dua buah motor scrambler dan dua buah Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) Pasukan Khas Laut (PASKAL).

Panglima Tentera Laut turut menyempurnakan upacara penyampaian piala dan anugerah kepada unit dan warga yang cemerlang sepanjang tahun 2022.

Seramai 40 orang pegawai dan anggota telah dianugerahkan Pingat Kedaulatan Negara (PKN) sebagai pengiktirafan dan penghargaan terhadap jasa bakti anggota tentera yang terlibat dalam OP DAULAT berikutan insiden pencerobohan Lahad Datu, Sabah. Manakala berikut merupakan pemenang piala dan anugerah sempena Hari Ulang Tahun TLDM Ke-89:

a. Piala Agong: Kapal Diraja (KD) LEKIU
b. Piala Gonzales: Kapal Diraja (KD) KERIS
c. Piala Panglima Tentera Laut: Kapal Diraja (KD) SUNDANG
d. Markas Terbaik: Markas Pemerintahan Kapal Selam
e. Bintara Terbaik TLDM : Bintara Muda PAP (PKL) Abdul Rahman bin Abu Hassan
f. Laskar Terbaik TLDM : Laskar Kanan TMS Tc. Shatheesrao a/l Apparao

Sambutan HUT TLDM Ke-89 turut dimeriahkan lagi dengan Majlis Jamuan Hari Raya Peringkat TLDM bertempat di Auditorium M. Sidek Shahbudin. Pelbagai jenis juadah disediakan kepada para tetamu yang hadir.

Panglima Tentera Laut bersama isteri berkesempatan meluangkan masa beramah mesra bersama warga pangkalan yang hadir dan beliau turut menyampaikan duit raya kepada anak-anak The Navy People.
