Maritime Training Activity MALPHI LAUT 24/23 Officially Kicks Off

Panacan, Davao City – Commodore Carlos V Sabarre PN, the Commander, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao officially declared the Maritime Training Activity MALPHI LAUT 24/23 open during its kick off held at NFEM Consolidated Mess Hall, NSFA, Panacan, Davao City on September 4, 2023.

“This occasion marks not only a crucial moment for our Naval Forces but also a testament to the enduring partnerships and shared commitment to maritime security and cooperation”, COMMODORE SABARRE said in his message as he presided over the Opening Ceremony.

It was attended by both Royal Malaysian Navy and Philippine Navy sailors. The Commander, NFEM continued, “that this exercise demonstrates the navies’ collaboration, interoperability, and preparedness in any situation or challenges that may arise in these dynamic maritime domain”.

Afterwards, the Royal Malaysian Navy ships, KD SELANGOR and KD SUNDANG made their ships available for ship’s tour. In the afternoon as part of the Shore Phase activities, Table Top Exercise and Subject Matter Expert Exchanges were conducted simultaneously by sharing technical knowledge and skills as well as best practices of both navies.
