Malaysian Chief of Defence Force Strengthens Defense Ties with Royal Thai Armed Forces Defence Relations Uncategorised 10th January 202410th January 2024 BANGKOK, 9 Jan 24 – General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Chief of Defence Force (CDF), reinforces defence collaboration through his official visit to the Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTARF). Accompanied by his wife, Puan Sri Datin Seri Ramlah binti Dawi, and a Malaysian Armed Forces delegation, they arrived at Don Muang Airport around 3:10 PM Malaysian time, warmly welcomed by the Defense Advisor at the Malaysian Embassy in Thailand, Brigadier General Samsul Rizal bin Musa, and several senior officers from RTARF. Upon arrival at the RTARF HQ Parade Square, General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad inspected the Guard of Honor presented by RTARF. Subsequently, he paid a reciprocal courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Force RTARF, General Songwit Noonpackdee. Notably, Gen Songwit visited Camp Terendak on 28 Oct 28 23, meeting with General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad during his working visit to Malaysia and was awarded the Honorary Parachute Beret and Wings by the 10th Para Brigade. In appreciation of the distinguished guest’s visit, Gen Songwit Noonpackdee hosted an Official Dinner for General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad, his wife, and the MAF delegation at a hotel in Bangkok. The event also included an invitation to the Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand, Datuk Jojie Samuel, and his wife, Datin Catherina Cherian Samuel. This visit serves as a unique platform for the highest military leaders of both nations to formally discuss bilateral defence engagement and cooperation. Panglima Angkatan Tentera dan isteri, Puan Sri Datin Seri Ramlah binti Dawi bersama-sama delegasi Angkatan Tentera Malaysia tiba di Don Muang Airport kira-kira jam 1510 waktu Malaysia dan disambut oleh Penasihat Pertahanan di MALAWAKIL Thailand, Brig Jen Samsul Rizal bin Musa serta beberapa Pegawai Kanan RTARF. Seusai tiba di RTARF HQ Parade Square, Panglima Angkatan Tentera telah menerima tabik hormat dan memeriksa Kawalan Kehormatan yang didirikan RTARF. Seterusnya, Panglima Angkatan Tentera telah melakukan kunjungan hormat timbal balas ke atas Chief of Defence Forces RTARF, Gen Songwit Noonpackdee. Sebagai rekod, Gen Songwit pernah hadir di Kem Terendak pada 28 Okt 23 bertemu dengan Panglima Angkatan Tentera ketika lawatan kerja ke Malaysia dan seterusnya dianugerahkan Beret dan Sayap Penerjunan Kehormat daripada 10 Briged Para. Sebagai menghargai kedatangan tetamu istimewanya, Gen Songwit Noonpackdee telah mengadakan Official Dinner kepada Panglima Angkatan Tentera dan isteri serta delegasi ATM bertempat di sebuah hotel di Bangkok. Turut serta dijemput dalam majlis tersebut adalah Duta Besar Malaysia ke Thailand, Datuk Jojie Samuel dan isteri, Datin Catherina Cherian Samuel. Lawatan ini menjadi medan pertemuan unik pemimpin tertinggi tentera kedua-dua negara secara formal dalam membincangkan penglibatan dan kerjasama hubungan pertahanan dua hala (bilateral) serta berkongsi pandangan masing-masing untuk kebaikan pertahanan bersama selain lawatan berorientasikan perkongsian maklumat ketenteraan. Sesungguhnya, penglibatan PAT dalam lawatan kerja seumpama ini adalah bertepatan dan selaras dengan Perintah Ulungnya yang digariskan dalam Teras Keempat iaitu ATM sebagai kuasa instrumen negara di mana hubungan dan kerjasama di peringkat antarabangsa diperkukuhkan.
