Butterworth, 8 May 24 โ Exercise BERSAMA SHIELD 2024 (BS24) is the annual joint exercise between the armed forces of the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) nations, namely Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. BS24 was conducted as a Field Training Exercise from 22 April 2024 to 8 May 2024 in the FPDA Training Area, covering parts of the land, air, and waters of the South China Sea, including Malaysiaโs Exclusive Economic Zone on the Malay Peninsula and Singapore.
This exercise involved the participation of three warships, one maritime helicopter, two maritime surveillance aircraft, nine support aircraft, sixteen fighter jets, and three Ground-Based Air Defence (GBAD) batteries, along with exercise participants from the three branches of the armed forces of the FPDA nations. In line with the defensive nature of the FPDA agreement, this exercise is not a threat to neighbouring countries but is a planned training consistent with the professional standards of the FPDA armed forces.
The Closing Ceremony of Ex BERSAMA SHIELD 2024 (BS24) was officiated by the Chief of Staff of the Headquarters Integrated Area Defence System (HQIADS), Col Lau Mun Leng RSAF, who is also the Director of BS24, at the HQIADS Auditorium, Butterworth Air Base, Penang. The event was enlivened by the presentation of several prizes and souvenirs to the exercise participants.
The GORMAN Cup was awarded to RSS VALOUR from Singapore for achieving the highest scores in the Naval Gunfire Support (NGS) training series. The Good Show Award, given to the exercise participants who showed outstanding performance throughout the exercise, was presented by the Deputy Commander of IADS, Brig Gen Amer Mahmud bin Abdul Rahman TUDM, on behalf of CIADS.
The event continued with closing remarks by the head of each FPDA nationโs delegation and the presentation of souvenirs, followed by the official closing of BS24 by Col Lau Mun Leng RSAF.

Butterworth, 8 Mei 24 โ Eksesais BERSAMA SHIELD 2024 (Eks BS24) merupakan Eksesais Gabungan tahunan antara Angkatan Tentera negara-negara Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) iaitu Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapura dan United Kingdom. Eks BS24 telah dilaksanakan secara Field Training Exercise bermula dari 22 April 2024 sehingga 08 Mei 2024 di Kawasan Latihan FPDA iaitu merangkumi sebahagian kawasan darat, udara dan perairan Laut China Selatan meliputi Zon Ekonomi Eksklusif Malaysia di Semenanjung Malaysia dan Singapura.
Eksesais pada kali ini melibatkan penglibatan 3 buah kapal perang, sebuah helikopter maritim, 2 buah pesawat pengawasan maritim, 9 buah pesawat bantuan , 16 buah pesawat pejuang dan 3 Bateri Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) serta Pelaku Eksesais dari ketiga-tiga cabang perkhidmatan Angkatan Tentera negara-negara FPDA. Bersesuaian dengan falsafah perjanjian FPDA yang bersifat defensif, eksesais ini bukanlah sebagai satu bentuk ancaman kepada negara-negara sekitar tetapi ianya adalah latihan yang telah dirancang sesuai dengan tahap profesionalisme Angkatan Tentera negara-negara FPDA.
Majlis Penutup Eksesais BERSAMA SHIELD 2024 (BS24) telah disempurnakan oleh Ketua Staf Headquarters Integrated Area Defence System (HQIADS), Col Lau Mun Leng RSAF yang juga merupakan Pengarah Eks BS24 bertempat di Auditorium HQIADS, Pangkalan Udara Butterworth, Pulau Pinang. Acara dimeriahkan dengan penyampaian beberapa hadiah dan cenderahati kepada peserta eksesais.
Hadiah bagi pemenang GORMAN Cup telah dinobatkan kepada RSS VALOUR dari Singapura dengan memperolehi markah tertinggi bagi siri Latihan Penembakan Naval Gunfire Support (NGS). Anugerah Good Show Award kepada pelaku eksesais yang menunjukkan prestasi cemerlang sepanjang eksesais berlangsung telah disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Komander IADS Brig Jen Amer Mahmud bin Abdul Rahman TUDM bagi mewakili CIADS.
Acara diteruskan dengan ucapan penutup oleh ketua delegasi setiap negara FPDA dan penyerahan cenderahati seterusnya acara penutup Eks BS24 disempurnakan oleh Col Lau Mun Leng RSAF.
