Kuching, 25 May 24 – The closing ceremony of Operational Sea Training EAST 1/24 (OSTEX EAST 1/24) was successfully conducted today.
OSTEX EAST series 1/24 began on 16 May 24 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and concluded on 26 May 24 in Kuching, Sarawak. Various activities were carried out with the involvement of nine surface ships, two combat boats, and a ScanEagle UAS aircraft. Additionally, this exercise received excellent cooperation from the Royal Malaysian Air Force with the participation of two HAWK aircraft and an EC725 helicopter.
This exercise is an intra-Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) exercise conducted periodically with the objective of testing the competency levels of personnel and assets in the Eastern Fleet. Various training series were successfully executed during the exercise, covering aspects such as navigation training, surface warfare, air warfare, electronic warfare, communication, and maritime knowledge.
This exercise also serves as a platform for the Eastern Fleet to showcase its presence in the maritime zones of Sabah and Sarawak, ensuring the safety and sovereignty of Malaysian waters in Sabah and Sarawak as well as the country’s maritime interests.
The continuous training of the RMN in the Malaysian Maritime Zone (MMZ), especially in Sarawak waters, also demonstrates the RMN’s commitment to defending the country’s maritime sovereignty through a large-scale show of presence on an ongoing basis.
Kuching, 25 Mei 24 – Majlis Penutup Operational Sea Training EAST 1/24 atau singkatannya OSTEX EAST 1/24 telah berjaya dilaksanakan pada hari ini.
OSTEX EAST siri 1/24 ini telah bermula sejak 16 Mei 24 yang lalu di Kota Kinabalu, Sabah dan berakhir pada 26 Mei 24 di Kuching, Sarawak. Pelbagai pengisian telah dilaksanakan dengan penglibatan 9 buah kapal permukaan, 2 buah bot tempur dan sebuah pesawat ScanEagle UAS. Selain itu, eksesais ini turut mendapat kerjasama baik dari Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia dengan penyertaan 2 buah pesawat HAWK dan sebuah helikopter EC725.
Eksesais ini merupakan eksesais intra-TLDM yang dilaksanakan secara berkala dengan objektifnya untuk menguji tahap kompetensi warga dan aset di Armada Timur. Pelbagai siri latihan telah berjaya dilaksanakan sepanjang latihan meliputi aspek latihan navigasi, peperangan permukaan, peperangan udara, peperangan elektronik, komunikasi dan ilmu kelautan.
Eksesais ini turut menjadi platform kepada Armada Timur memperagakan kehadiran di perairan Zon Maritim Malaysia di Sabah dan Sarawak dalam memastikan keselamatan dan kedaulatan perairan Sabah dan Sarawak serta kepentingan maritim negara sentiasa terpelihara.
Latihan berterusan TLDM di Zon Maritim Malaysia (ZMM) terutamanya di perairan Sarawak ini turut membuktikan komitmen TLDM bagi mempertahankan kedaulatan maritim negara melalui show of presence pada skalar besar secara berterusan.
