MAF Armored Vehicle Transporter Overturned on the KL-Karak Expressway

The Malaysian Army (TDM) confirmed that an Armored Vehicle Transporter (KPKP) from 4 Royal Service Corps Transport Company (4 KPD Mek) with a load of 2 ADNAN Type A Vehicles belonging to the Seventh Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment (7 RRD Mek ) was involved in a road accident at KM 35.2 from the Genting Sempah Tunnel towards the Gombak Toll at approximately 4.45 pm today.

This vehicle was traveling in a convoy of six KPKP carrying 12 KJA from Camp Batu 10, Kuantan to Camp Syed Sirajuddin, Gemas for Combat Enhancement Training (LPT). Through the initial report received, the accident was caused by KPKP trying to avoid a public trailer that had changed course and entered the right lane suddenly. Due to the slippery road conditions due to the rainy weather, the KPKP lost control and then crashed into the opposite road. The damage was to the entire KPKP Prime Mover section while there was no damage to the ADNAN Type A Vehicles and the KPKP driver did not suffer any
injury.

The other vehicles in the convoy continued their journey to Sungai Besi Perdana Camp. The TDM has moved a vehicle back from the First Regiment of the Royal Armor Corps (1 KAD) Mek) from Camp Batu 10, Kuantan and a KPKP from Perdana Sungai Besi Camp to the accident location to make the withdrawal of the KPKP and the retrieval of 2 ADNAN Type A Vehicles involved in the accident to the team for further action.

TDM will establish an Investigation Board to investigate the real cause of the accident.
