Strengthening Malaysia-Indonesia Cooperation: Coordinated Patrol Series 2/2024 Launched

BA’KELALAN: The Coordinated Patrol (PATKOR) Series 2/2024, a joint operation between Malaysia’s 10th Border Regiment Battalion (10 RS) and Indonesia’s 8th Combat Engineering Battalion Sakti Mandraguna (Yonzipur 8/SMG) of the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD), was launched under the Malaysia-Indonesia bilateral initiative (MALINDO). This operation, organized by the Ground Operations Planning Team (TPOD) and the Coordinated Operation Control Committee (COCC), aims to strengthen defense cooperation between the two nations.

The opening ceremony for PATKOR Series 2/2024 took place at the Joint Border Post (GABMA) in Long Midang, Indonesia. It was officiated by Colonel Darwis Efendi, Chief of Staff Korem 092/Maharajalila, and Lieutenant Colonel Ismanizam bin Ismail, Commanding Officer of 10 RS. Brigadier General Ahmad Norzaini bin Badrun, Commander of Malaysia’s 9th Infantry Brigade, was also present.

With two officers and 32 other ranks from each side, the operation involves joint patrols along 40 border markers to curb cross-border activities that threaten national security. The patrols aim to bolster bilateral relations while ensuring the safety and security of both nations.

The event also included the release of troops by the officials and a symbolic gift exchange between Malaysian and Indonesian commanders, signifying the ongoing commitment to diplomatic defense relations. The five-day operation, running from November 9 to 14, aligns with the Fifth Pillar of the 30th Commander of the Malaysian Army’s mandate to enhance Malaysia-Indonesia defense diplomacy.


PEMBUKAAN PATROLI TERKOORDINASI SIRI 2/2014 TINGKAT KERJASAMA MALAYSIA – INDONESIA

BA’KELALAN : Patroli Terkoordinasi (PATKOR) Siri 2/2024 antara Batalion Kesepuluh Rejimen Sempadan (10 RS) daripada Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) dan Batalyon Zeni Tempur 8/Sakti Mandraguna (Yonzipur 8/SMG) yang mewakili Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD) adalah operasi di bawah kerjasama bilateral Malaysia/Indonesia (MALINDO) yang dianjurkan oleh agensi Tim Perancang Operasi Darat (TPOD) dan Coordinated Operation Control Committee (COCC).

Perbarisan pembukaan PATKOR Siri 2/2024 yang disempurnakan bersama oleh Kepala Staf Korem (Kasrem) Korem 092/Maharajalila, Kolonel Inf Darwis Efendi S.E., M.M dan Pegawai Memerintah 10 RS, Lt Kol Ismanizam bin Ismail telah disaksikan oleh Panglima Briged Kesembilan Infantri Malaysia (9 Bgd), Brig Jen Ahmad Norzaini bin Badrun di Pos Gabungan Bersama (GABMA) Long Midang, Indonesia pada 9 Nov 24.

Trup 10 RS dan Yonzipur 8/SMG terdiri daripada dua orang Pegawai dan 32 anggota Lain-Lain Pangkat akan melaksanakan rondaan bersama merangkumi 40 unit Batu Sempadan di persempadanan Malaysia-Indonesia bagi membanteras aktiviti lintas batas yang berpotensi menjejaskan keamanan dan keselamatan negara. Selain itu, pelaksanaan operasi bilateral tahunan ini juga untuk meningkatkan hubungan kerjasama dua hala antara Malaysia-Indonesia.

Acara diteruskan dengan acara perlepasan Trup TDM dan TNI-AD oleh Kasrem Korem 092 dan Pegawai Memerintah 10 RS di mana operasi tersebut akan berlangsung selama lima hari mulai 9 hingga 14 Nov 24. Sejurus itu, turut diadakan majlis penyampaian antara Panglima 9 Bgd dengan wakil Korem 092 sebagai tanda kenangan.

Aktiviti bilateral tahunan ini sejajar dengan Teras Kelima Perintah Ulung Panglima Tentera Darat Ke-30 dalam memperkukuhkan lagi hubungan diplomasi pertahanan kedua-dua angkatan tentera antara TDM dan TNI-AD.
