MELAKA – The 10th Paratrooper Brigade (10 Bgd Para) welcomed a new leader as Major General Dato’ Khairul Azmizal Ahmad Natal officially handed over command to his successor, Brigadier General Khairul Anwar Soib, in a ceremonial parade at Dataran Parawood, 8th Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment (Para) on February 5, 2025. The handover ceremony was witnessed by Chief of Army, General Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan, and included the signing of the Handover Note and the symbolic passing of the Command Baton.
Maj Gen Dato’ Khairul Azmizal will continue his service in the Malaysian Armed Forces in his new role as the Commander of the 4th Infantry Division (4 Div). In his farewell address, he expressed immense pride in the 10th Paratrooper Brigade for consistently demonstrating a high fighting spirit across all aspects, including combat, training, sports competitions, operations, and audits.
“Over my seven years of leadership, this brigade’s achievements would not have been possible without the dedication, discipline, and integrity of every soldier,” he said. He also emphasized that the brigade’s slogan, Strong Arms, goes beyond physical prowess and combat skills—it reflects the values of humility and mutual respect among comrades.
He further urged troops to maintain high readiness levels, ensuring they are always prepared for deployment to accomplish any assigned mission. As he bid farewell, he expressed deep gratitude to the 10 Bgd (Para) personnel and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence, making the brigade an outstanding and formidable force respected by allies and adversaries alike.
As part of the ceremony, a combat capability demonstration showcased the brigade’s elite skills, featuring multipurpose tower exercises, artillery air defense, and section attacks. These drills highlighted the soldiers’ agility, preparedness, and efficiency in various combat scenarios.
The event concluded with a Street Lining tribute by all officers and personnel in attendance, paying their final respects to the outgoing Commander of the 10th Paratrooper Brigade.
