KOTA KINABALU, March 10 – The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) have successfully conducted the Malaysia-Japan Bilateral Exercise (MALPAN) 2025, aimed at strengthening maritime defence cooperation between both nations.

The exercise, held from 4 to 10 March, focused on enhancing interoperability, joint operational capabilities, and strategic coordination in maritime security. It was conducted in Kota Kinabalu waters, involving assets from the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM), the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM), and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).

Among the key elements of MALPAN 2025 were joint naval maneuvers, maritime patrols, search and rescue (SAR) operations, and anti-piracy drills.
