Lumut, 7 December 2020 – The Chief of Army (COA), General Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain had the opportunity to witness the Exercise (Ex) LEMBING SAKTI at Tanjung Hantu, Lumut, Perak.

Ex LEMBING SAKTI is an ASTROS II Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) firing exercise under the control of the Rocket Artillery Brigade Headquarters (RAB HQ). The annual exercise is executed this year to test the Complete Round Proof (CRP) shot to extend the shelf life of the rocket. This exercise also involves the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) and local civil enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety of training.

This exercise also intended to test the level of readiness and efficiency of personnel in the operation of MRLS ASTROS II according to the Army Training and Assessment System (ARTEP).

Upon his arrival, COA was greeted by the Chairman of the Royal Artillery Regiment (RAR), Brigadier General Dato’ Dr Hj Ibrahim bin Yasir and then the welcome speech was delivered by the RAB Commander, Brigadier General Zulmajdi bin Yunus.

The exericse started with the first segment showcasing the 51st Royal Artillery Regiment (51 RAR) firing SS 40 rockets. A total of 45 rockets were launched to a target at 30km.

In the second segment, COA and the guests present also had the opportunity to experience the MLRS ASTROS II shooting. A total of 48 rockets were fired for the second time.

Also present to witness the exercise were the Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany, Commander of the Army Western Field HQ, Lieutenant General Dato’ Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Commander of the West Fleet, Vice-Admiral Dato’ Muhamad Ridzwan bin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Secretary General (Development), Captain (Honorary) Datuk Hj Ruji bin Hj Ubi PSSTLDM and Senior Officer of the Army.

EKS LEMBING SAKTI PAMER KUASA TEMBAKAN BRIGED ARTILERI ROKET

Lumut, 7 Disember 2020 – Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD), Jeneral Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah berkesempatan menyaksikan Eksesais (Eks) LEMBING SAKTI bertempat di Tanjung Hantu, Lumut, Perak.

Eks LEMBING SAKTI merupakan latihan tembakan Sistem Roket Lancar Berganda (SRLB) ASTROS II di bawah kendalian Markas Briged Artileri Roket (BAR). Eks yang dilaksanakan setiap tahun ini bertujuan untuk menguji tembakan Complete Round Proof (CRP) bagi memanjangkan jangka hayat roket. Eks ini turut melibatkan Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM), Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) dan agensi penguatkuasa awam setempat dalam menentukan keselamatan latihan.

Eks ini juga bertujuan untuk menguji tahap kesiagaan dan kecekapan anggota dalam pengendalian SRLB ASTROS II berpandukan Sistem Latihan dan Penilaian TD (ARTEP).

Sebaik ketibaannya, PTD telah disambut oleh Pengerusi Rejimen Artileri Diraja (RAD), Brigedier Jeneral Dato’ Dr Hj Ibrahim bin Yasir dan seterusnya ucapan aluan disampaikan oleh Panglima BAR, Brigedier Jeneral Zulmajdi bin Yunus.

Eks seterusnya dimulakan dengan segmen pertama yang mempamerkan keupayaan Bateri dari Rejimen 51 Artileri Diraja (51 RAD) melaksanakan tembakan roket SS 40. Sejumlah 45 butir roket telah dilancarkan ke sasaran sejauh 30km.

Dalam segmen kedua pula, PTD dan para Tetamu Kenamaan yang hadir turut berpeluang untuk merasai sendiri pengalaman melancarkan tembakan SRLB ASTROS II. Sebanyak 48 butir roket telah dilancarkan untuk tembakan kali kedua ini.

Turut sama hadir menyaksikan eks ini ialah Panglima Tentera Laut, Laksamana Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany, Panglima Medan Barat Tentera Darat, Leftenan Jeneral Dato’ Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Panglima Armada Barat, Laksamana Madya Dato’ Muhamad Ridzwan bin Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Pembangunan), Kepten (Kehormat) Datuk Hj Ruji bin Hj Ubi PSSTLDM serta Pegawai Kanan TDM.
