Malaysian Army Establishes Greater Klang Valley Task Force (GKV TF)

SERDANG, 6 August 2021-The worsening situation of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the ability of the public health system of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to treat critical COVID-19 cases, to be increasingly affected.

To overcome these problems, MOH took drastic action by creating a task force known as the ‘Greater Klang Valley Special Task Force’ (GKV STF), which works to implement a more effective, fast and comprehensive action plan on the existing public health service system. . This task force will focus on cases in the Klang Valley, including northern Negeri Sembilan, western Pahang and southern Perak.

To assist and support the GKV STF team action plan, the Malaysian Army (TDM) has set up a special team to assist health workers in Klang Valley hospitals and the COVID-19 Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang Quarantine and Treatment Center (PKRC MAEPS). named as the ‘Greater Klang Valley Task Force’ (GKV TF).

To review the operation of the GKV TF team, the Chief of Army (COA), General Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain, had the opportunity to accompany the Deputy Prime Minister and Senior Minister of Defense, YAB Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob and the Chief of Defence Forces, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj Affendi bin Buang TUDM, visited the GKV TF Operations Room, fully operated by the Army, and situated at PKRC MAEPS, Serdang.

The GKV TF team consisting of 1,000 officers and members of TDM will operate from three Forward Operation Bases (FOB) namely MAEPS, Serdang; Wardieburn Camp, Setapak; and Sungai Buloh Camp, Sungai Buloh. In all, a total of 750 people will be involved as key personnel while the remaining 250 people are support groups. All these main tasks are divided into three main assignments, namely ‘Oxygen Carrier Team’ (OSCAR) which is stationed at MAEPS, while ‘Rapid Resupply Team’ (RRT) and ‘Body Management Team’ (BMT) will be assigned at MAEPS and six hospitals around the Klang Valley.

Indeed, the mobilization of TDM personnel and assets to carry out such operations to ensure safety and peace among the people affected by the disaster, is in line with the First Pillar of the 28th COA Superior Command, namely “Continuity of Mission and Vigilance” and the Fifth Pillar of the COA vSuperior Command. 28 namely “Improving Army-Civil Relations”.

TENTERA DARAT TUBUH PASUKAN GREATER KLANG VALLEY TASK FORCE (GKV TF) DENGAN ATURGERAK 1000 ANGGOTA

SERDANG, 6 Ogos 2021 – Situasi penularan pandemik COVID-19 yang semakin meruncing menyebabkan kemampuan sistem kesihatan awam Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) bagi merawat kes-kes COVID-19 yang kritikal, semakin terjejas.

Bagi mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, KKM mengambil tindakan drastik dengan mewujudkan task force yang dikenali sebagai ‘Greater Klang Valley Special Task Force’ (GKV STF), yang berfungsi untuk melaksanakan pelan tindakan yang lebih efektif, cepat dan menyeluruh ke atas sistem perkhidmatan kesihatan awam sedia ada. Task force ini akan memberikan penumpuan ke atas kes-kes di kawasan Lembah Klang termasuk utara Negeri Sembilan, barat Pahang dan juga selatan Perak.

Bagi membantu dan menyokong pelan tindakan pasukan GKV STF, Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) telah menubuhkan satu pasukan khas bagi melaksanakan tugas membantu petugas kesihatan di hospital-hospital Lembah Klang dan Pusat Kuarantin dan Rawatan COVID-19 Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (PKRC MAEPS) yang dinamakan sebagai ‘Greater Klang Valley Task Force’ (GKV TF).

Bagi meninjau pengoperasian pasukan GKV TF ini, Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD), Jeneral Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain, berkesempatan untuk mengiringi Timbalan Perdana Menteri merangkap Menteri Kanan Pertahanan, YAB Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob dan Panglima Angkatan Tentera, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj Affendi bin Buang TUDM, berkunjung ke Bilik Operasi GKV TF, yang dikendalikan sepenuhnya oleh Tentera Darat, yang ditempatkan di PKRC MAEPS, Serdang.

Pasukan GKV TF yang terdiri daripada 1,000 orang pegawai dan anggota TDM ini akan beroperasi dari tiga Forward Operation Base (FOB) iaitu MAEPS, Serdang; Kem Wardieburn, Setapak; dan Kem Sungai Buloh, Sungai Buloh. Dari keseluruhan jumlah tersebut seramai 750 orang akan terlibat sebagai petugas utama manakala bakinya seramai 250 orang adalah kumpulan sokongan. Kesemua petugas utama ini pula dibahagikan kepada tiga penugasan utama iaitu ‘Oxygen Carrier Team’ (OSCAR) yang ditempatkan di MAEPS, manakala ‘Rapid Resupply Team’ (RRT) dan ‘Body Management Team’ (BMT) pula akan ditugaskan di MAEPS dan enam buah hospital di sekitar Lembah Klang.

Sesungguhnya, aturgerak anggota dan aset TDM bagi melaksanakan operasi sebegini demi memastikan keselamatan dan keamanan dalam kalangan rakyat yang terkesan oleh bencana, adalah sejajar dengan Tonggak Pertama Perintah Ulung PTD Ke-28 iaitu “Kelangsungan Misi dan Kesiagaan” dan Tonggak Kelima Perintah Ulung PTD Ke-28 iaitu “Peningkatan Hubungan Tentera Darat dengan Awam”.
