SUBANG, 7th December 2023 – Air Force Chief, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohd Asghar Khan bin Goriman Khan RMAF, presided over the Appointment Ceremony and witnessed the Handover Ceremony of RMAF Warrant Officer and Ceremonial Warrant Officer. This historic event for RMAF took place at the Parade Ground of Subang Air Base during the RMAF Excellence Awards Day 2023. Deputy Chief of Air Force, Lieutenant General Datuk Seri Hj Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris RMAF, accompanied the Chief of Air Force at the ceremony.

The Chief of Air Force conducted the official appointment with the presentation of the RMAF Warrant Officer rank insignia and the “Peak Cap” to PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar, appointed as the 9th RMAF Warrant Officer. He then witnessed the Handover Ceremony between PW U I Mohamad Lockman bin Abdul Jabar and his successor, PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar.

The formal transfer of duties and positions was symbolized by the handover of the RMAF Warrant Officer Baton of Authority and the oath-taking by PW U I Mohamad Lockman bin Abdul Jabar to the Chief of Air Force, who then officiated the witnessing of the oath-taking ceremony for PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar as the 9th RMAF Warrant Officer.

The position of RMAF Warrant Officer is the highest-ranking position within the RMAF other ranks hierarchy. The role of the RMAF Warrant Officer is to act as a special advisor to the Chief of Air Force regarding existing policies involving service regulations, the spirit, and culture of RMAF, and also to serve as eyes and ears, channeling information and views related to the welfare and issues of RMAF other ranks.

Similar to the RMAF Warrant Officer appointment ceremony, the Air Force Chief also conducted the appointment of the second most important position within RMAF other ranks with the presentation of the Ceremonial Warrant Officer rank insignia and the “Peak Cap” to PW U I Mohd Rashidi bin Md Tahir, appointed as the 6th Ceremonial Warrant Officer.

The formal transfer of duties and positions was also symbolized by the handover of the Ceremonial Warrant Officer Baton of Authority and the oath-taking by PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar to the Air Force Chief, who then officiated the witnessing of the oath-taking ceremony for PW U I Mohd Rashidi bin Md Tahir as the new Ceremonial Warrant Officer.

The primary responsibilities of the Ceremonial Warrant Officer include determining the implementation of ceremonies and protocols, especially in the field of parades and ceremonies, as well as coordinating marches and official events at the Federal, State, MAF, and RMAF levels.

A heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the 8th RMAF Warrant Officer, PW U I Mohamad Lockman bin Abdul Jabar, for his dedicated service to RMAF, ATM, and the nation. Congratulations to PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar, entrusted with the responsibility as the 9th RMAF Warrant Officer, and PW U I Mohd Rashidi bin Md Tahir as the new Ceremonial Warrant Officer.

PW U I AHMAD MAULANA BIN AB GHAFAR DILANTIK SEBAGAI PEGAWAI WARAN TUDM KE-9 DAN PW U I MOHD RASHIDI BIN MD TAHIR SEBAGAI PEGAWAI WARAN ISTIADAT TUDM KE-6

SUBANG, 7 Disember 2023-Panglima Tentera Udara, Jen Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohd Asghar Khan bin Goriman Khan TUDM telah menyempurnakan Upacara Pelantikan dan menyaksikan Upacara Serah Terima Tugas Pegawai Waran TUDM dan Pegawai Waran Istiadat TUDM. Upacara bersejarah buat TUDM ini disaksikan oleh semua yang hadir di Hari Anugerah Kecemerlangan TUDM Tahun 2023 yang diadakan di Padang Kawad Pangkalan Udara Subang. Turut mengiringi Panglima Tentera Udara di upacara ini adalah Timbalan Panglima Tentera Udara, Lt Jen Datuk Seri Hj Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris TUDM.

Panglima Tentera Udara menyempurnakan pelantikan jawatan penting tersebut dengan upacara pemakaian lencana pangkat Pegawai Waran TUDM dan pakaian kepala “Peak Cap” Pegawai Waran TUDM kepada PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar yang dilantik sebagai Pegawai Waran TUDM Ke-9. Seterusnya menyaksikan Upacara Serah Terima Tugas Pegawai Waran TUDM di antara PW U I Mohamad Lockman bin Abdul Jabar kepada penggantinya, PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar.

Penyerahan rasmi tugas dan jawatan dizahirkan dengan penyerahan Tongkat Kuasa Pegawai Waran TUDM dan akad oleh PW U I Mohamad Lockman bin Abdul Jabar kepada Panglima Tentera Udara yang kemudiannya menyempurnakan penyaksian akad penyerahan tugas dan jawatan kepada PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar sebagai Pegawai Waran TUDM ke-9.

Jawatan Pegawai Waran TUDM adalah jawatan tertinggi di dalam hirarki anggota LLP TUDM. Peranan Pegawai Waran TUDM adalah bertindak sebagai penasihat khas kepada Panglima Tentera Udara berkaitan dengan dasar sedia ada yang melibatkan peraturan perkhidmatan, semangat dan budaya TUDM juga berperanan sebagai mata dan telinga yang menyalurkan maklumat serta pandangan berkaitan kebajikan dan masalah anggota LLP TUDM.

Sepertimana upacara pelantikan Pegawai Waran TUDM, Panglima Tentera Udara turut menyempurnakan pelantikan jawatan kedua terpenting dalam LLP TUDM dengan upacara pemakaian lencana pangkat Pegawai Waran Istiadat TUDM dan pakaian kepala “Peak Cap” Pegawai Waran Istiadat TUDM kepada PW U I Mohd Rashidi bin Md Tahir sebagai Pegawai Waran Istiadat TUDM Ke-6.

Penyerahan rasmi tugas dan jawatan turut dizahirkan dengan penyerahan Tongkat Kuasa Pegawai Waran Istiadat TUDM dan akad oleh PW U I Ahmad Maulana bin Ab Ghafar kepada Panglima Tentera Udara yang kemudiannya menyempurnakan penyaksian akad penyerahan tugas dan jawatan kepada PW U I Mohd Rashidi bin Md Tahir sebagai Pegawai Waran Istiadat TUDM yang baharu.

Tugas utama Pegawai Waran Istiadat TUDM antaranya menentukan pelaksanaan melibatkan istiadat dan protokol khususnya dalam bidang kawad dan istiadat serta mengkoordinasi perbarisan serta acara-acara rasmi di peringkat Persekutuan, Negeri, ATM dan TUDM.

Sekalung penghargaan dan terima kasih kepada Pegawai Waran TUDM Ke-8, PW U I Mohamad Lockman bin Abdul Jabar di atas segala sumbangan jasa bakti yang dicurahkan untuk perkhidmatan TUDM khususnya serta ATM dan negara amnya.
