Army Chief Gen Ahmad Hasbullah’s Introductory Visit to Singapore

Army chief (COA) Gen Dato’ Seri Panglima Hj Ahmad Hasbullah bin Hj Mohd Nawawi made an Official Visit to Singapore from 1 to 4 August 19. He had the opportunity to conduct a courtesy visit to Singapore Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen and met the Singapore Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong and the Singapore Army Chief, MG Goh Si Hou.

The main scope of the discussion during the meeting centered on the longstanding bilateral defence relations between Malaysia and Singapore. The meeting also discussed ways to address regional challenges such as strengthening cooperation to address terrorism threats.

COA also had the opportunity to see the static display of the current military assets in the 2nd People’s Defence Force (PDF) and was taken onboard the Peacekeeper Protected Response Vehicle.

Panglima Tentera Darat, Jen Dato’ Seri Panglima Hj Ahmad Hasbullah bin Hj Mohd Nawawi, telah melaksanakan Lawatan Rasmi ke negara Singapura bermula pada 1 sehingga 4 Ogos 19. Beliau berkesempatan melaksanakan kunjungan hormat ke atas Menteri Pertahanan Singapura, Dr Ng Eng Hen dan bertemu Panglima Angkatan Tentera Singapura, Leftenan Jeneral Melvyn Ong serta Panglima Tentera Darat Singapura, Mejar Jeneral Goh Si Hou.

Skop utama perbincangan ketika pertemuan tersebut berkisar kepada hubungan pertahanan dua hala yang baik sejak sekian lama di antara Malaysia dan Singapura.Pertemuan juga turut membincangkan kaedah untuk mendepani cabaran serantau seperti memperkukuh kerjasama bagi menangani ancaman keganasan.

PTD juga berkesempatan melihat paparan statik aset tentera semasa di Pasukan Pertahanan Rakyat Kedua (2nd People’s Defence Force) dan dibawa menaiki Kenderaan Tindakbalas Perlindungan Pengaman (Peacekeeper Protected Response Vehicle).
