First Malaysia-Thailand Regional Border Committee Conference 2021

SUNGAI BESI, 2 Jul 2021 – The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) remains committed in efforts to strengthen control at the Malaysia – Thailand border via close cooperation with the Royal Thai Armed Forces through the Regional Border Committee (RBC) discussions held on 29 June 21.

The MAF, through the Malaysian Army (TDM), was represented by the Army Western Field Commander, Lt Gen Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain bin Jantan as Malaysia Joint Commander (MJC) and the 2nd Division Commander, Maj Gen Datuk Arman Rumaizi bin Hj Ahmad, as the Chairman of the Land Working GroupΒ  (LWG) participated in the RBC discussion with the 4th Army Region Commander, Lt Gen Kriengkrai Srirak as the Thailand Joint Commander (TJC) which was held by video conference.

The first conference this year discussed the coordination of measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 along the Malaysia-Thailand border as well as further strengthening cooperation between countries in preserving the borders of the two countries.

SUNGAI BESI, 2 Jul 2021 – Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) terus komited dalam usaha untuk memperkasakan kawalan di sempadan Malaysia – Thailand menerusi kerjasama erat bersama Angkatan Tentera Diraja Thailand melalui perbincangan Regional Border Committee (RBC) yang telah diadakan pada 29 Jun 21 yang lalu.

ATM menerusi Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) telah diwakili oleh Panglima Medan Barat Tentera Darat, Lt Jen Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain bin Jantan selaku Malaysia Joint Commander (MJC) dan Panglima 2 Divisyen, Mej Jen Datuk Arman Rumaizi bin Hj Ahmad, selaku Pengerusi Land Working Group (LWG) telah menyertai perbincangan RBC bersama Komander 4th Army Region, Lt Jen Kriengkrai Srirak selaku Thailand Joint Commander (TJC) yang diadakan secara sidang video.

Persidangan kali pertama pada tahun ini membincangkan mengenai penyelarasan langkah-langkah mencegah penularan wabak Covid-19 di sepanjang sempadan Malaysia-Thailand serta mengukuhkan lagi kerjasama antara negara dalam memelihara persempadanan kedua-dua belah negara.
