SUNGAI BESI, 8 September 2021 – The Malaysian Army (TDM) enhanced its artillery combat capability when the Eighth Royal Artillery Regiment (8 RAD) Ad Hoc, was officially established, today.
The inauguration of the establishment of the new unit was officiated by the Chief of the Army (COA), General Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain, in a simple ceremony and in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO), held in the foyer of Wisma Perwira Tentera Darat, Camp Perdana Sungai Besi.
The establishment of 8 RAD Ad Hoc, was implemented in line with the realignment of TDM units based on the Army Strategic Capability Development Plan (Army 4NextG). It aims to enhance the ability of artillery fire support to both theatres simultaneously more effectively and efficiently.
8 RAD Ad Hoc, which will be stationed at Camp Penrissen Lama Kuching, Sarawak, is an initial effort towards the addition of RAD units in the Army Eastern Field Command (PMTTD).
Lieutenant Colonel Jamaluddin bin Ahamad Tajudin, as the new Commanding Officer of 8 RAD Ad Hoc, along with four Officers and nine members of Other Ranks, will continue their efforts towards the complete operation of 8 RAD under PMTTD.
The establishment of such new units is in line with the First Pillar of the 28th COA Superior Order, “Continuity of Mission and Preparedness”, which emphasizes on improving combat capability and the ability to operate in two regions simultaneously.
REJIMEN KELAPAN ARTILERI DIRAJA (8 RAD) AD HOC, BERTARAF OPERASI
SUNGAI BESI, 8 September 2021 – Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) mempertingkatkan keupayaan tempur artileri apabila Rejimen Kelapan Artileri Diraja (8 RAD) Ad Hoc, ditubuhkan dengan rasminya, pada hari ini.
Perasmian penubuhan pasukan baharu ini disempurnakan oleh Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD), Jeneral Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain, dalam satu upacara ringkas serta mematuhi Prosesur Operasi Standard (SOP) Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) yang diadakan di ruang legar Wisma Perwira Tentera Darat, Kem Perdana Sungai Besi.
Penubuhan 8 RAD Ad Hoc ini, dilaksanakan seiring dengan penjajaran semula unit-unit TDM berdasarkan kepada Pelan Pembangunan Keupayaan Strategik TD (Army 4NextG). Ia bertujuan mempertingkatkan keupayaan bantuan tembakan artileri kepada kedua-dua wilayah secara serentak dengan lebih efektif dan efisien.
8 RAD Ad Hoc, yang akan ditempatkan di Kem Penrissen Lama Kuching, Sarawak, merupakan usaha awal kepada penambahan unit-unit RAD di wilayah Pemerintahan Medan Timur Tentera Darat (PMTTD).
Leftenan Kolonel Jamaluddin bin Ahamad Tajudin, selaku Pegawai Memerintah 8 RAD Ad Hoc yang baharu, bersama-sama empat Pegawai dan sembilan anggota Lain-Lain Pangkat, akan meneruskan usaha ke arah pengoperasian 8 RAD yang lengkap di bawah PMTTD.
Penubuhan unit baharu sebegini adalah menepati Tonggak Pertama Perintah Ulung PTD Ke-28, “Kelangsungan Misi dan Kesiagaan”, yang memberikan penekanan kepada peningkatan keupayaan tempur serta berkemampuan beroperasi di dua wilayah secara serentak.
