No Breaches, Data Leakage on the Part of MAF – Affendi

September 29, 2021 – KUALA LUMPUR: The issue of alleged leakage of public personal data does not involve any breaches or leakage of data on the part of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), said MAF Chief Gen Tan Sri Affendi Buang.

He said the MAF always emphasized the confidentiality of all data, whether it was in a closed or open network.

“The MAF takes the issue of data leakage seriously as reported, as it could invite public concern over the integrity of the monitoring system as well as the security of MAF data,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) denied allegations that there were data leaks involving local business entities, as reported by a local portal today.

SSM in a statement informed that it has conducted an internal investigation and assured that, all corporate information stored with SSM are secure and protected by several layers of recognized information security technology.

“SSM will work with the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and the National Security Council (NSC), to conduct further investigations into these allegations.

“SSM advises the public who wish to obtain information on business entities related to companies, businesses and limited liability partnerships, to transact through SSM -recognized channels,” according to the statement.

Earlier, a local portal reported about 1.4 million local company profiles stolen from SSM, were offered for sale in a hacker forum.

Tiada kebocoran, ketirisan data di pihak ATM – Affendi

September 29, 2021 by Bernama
