KUALA LUMPUR, 18 March 2022 – The Deputy Chief of Army (Dy COA), Lieutenant General Datuk Seri Muhammad bin Ab Rahman was present to witness the final training of Exercise Mantis (Ex Mantis) Series 8/2022 at Cochrane MRT Station today.
Bilateral cooperation between the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) was strengthened through bilateral exercises in collaboration with public agencies which were also part of Emergency Action Plan Exercises from Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd.
This exercise is the second time that uses the same concept of performing the exercise at the MRT station. The previous exercise was conducted at Maluri MRT Station in 2018.
The final exercise of Exercise MANTIS Series 8/2022 involved the 12th Squadron team of the Army Royal Engineers Regiment (12 Skn RAJD) for the conduct of Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNe) with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The bilateral exercise was also joined by Army Troops (TD) teams, namely 21 Special Service Group (21 GGK) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) medical team.
The concept of this exercise is geared towards Operations Against Terrorism in CBRNe threat situations at Subway Stations and vehicle parking lots. In addition, the exercise also involved participation from the Canadian Special Operation Force Command (CANSOFCOM), the CAF.
This final exercise was conducted to test the level of readiness of MRT staff with the involvement of various public agencies such as the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and other agencies in facing any incidents or threats and help achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Safety and Security.
The training for such exercises is in line with the First Pillar of the 28th Commander-in-Chief of the Army, namely; “Mission Continuity and Readiness” by focusing on increasing the level of alertness, competencies and assets of TDM.
Also witnessing the final exercise were the Army West Field Commander (PMBTD), Lieutenant General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeian bin Jantan; President of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad Group CEO, Tuan Mohd Azharuddin bin Mat Sah; Canadian Defense Advisor, Lieutenant Colonel Jason King and Commander of West Field Engineers (KJMB), Major General Ir Abdul Hamid bin Mohd Isa.

MRT COCHRANE DISERANG LATIHAN AKHIR EKSESAIS MANTIS SIRI 8/2022
KUALA LUMPUR, 18 Mac 2022 – Timbalan Panglima Tentera Darat (TPTD), Leftenan Jeneral Datuk Seri Muhammad bin Ab Rahman hadir menyaksikan latihan akhir Eksesais Mantis (Eks Mantis) Siri 8/2022 bertempat di Stesen MRT Cochrane pada hari ini.
Kerjasama bilateral antara Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) dan Angkatan Tentera Kanada (ATK) diperkukuhkan melalui latihan bilateral dengan kolaborasi bersama agensi awam yang turut dijadikan sebagai Latihamal Pelan Tindakan Kecemasan dari pihak Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd.
Latihan ini merupakan latihan kali kedua yang menggunakan konsep yang sama iaitu melaksanakan latihan di stesen MRT. Latihan sebelum ini telah dilaksanakan di Stesen MRT Maluri pada tahun 2018 yang lalu.
Latihan akhir Eksesais MANTIS Siri 8/2022 melibatkan pasukan Skuadron Ke-12 Rejimen Askar Jurutera Diraja (12 Skn RAJD) bagi pelaksanaan Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNe) bersama Angkatan Tentera Kanada (ATK). Eksesais bilateral ini turut juga disertai pasukan-pasukan Trup Tentera Darat (TD) iaitu 21 Grup Gerak Khas (21 GGK) dan pasukan perubatan Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM).
Konsep eksesais ini adalah menjurus kepada Operasi Melawan Keganasan dalam situasi ancaman CBRNe di Stesen Keretapi bawah tanah dan tempat parkir kenderaan. Selain itu, eksesais ini turut melibatkan penyertaan dari Canadian Special Operation Force Command (CANSOFCOM), Angkatan Tentera Kanada (ATK).
Latihan akhir ini dilaksanakan bertujuan menguji tahap kesiapsiagaan staf MRT dengan penglibatan pelbagai agensi awam seperti Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM) dan lain-lain agensi dalam menghadapi sebarang insiden atau ancaman serta membantu mencapai Key Performance Indicator (KPI) berkaitan Safety and Security.
Latihan bagi eksesais sebegini adalah sejajar dengan Tonggak Pertama Perintah Ulung Panglima Tentera Darat Ke-28, iaitu; “Kelangsungan Misi dan Kesiagaan” dengan memberi penumpuan kepada peningkatan tahap kesiagaan, kompetensi dan aset TDM.
Turut sama menyaksikan latihan akhir ini adalah Panglima Medan Barat Tentera Darat (PMBTD), Leftenan Jeneral Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeian bin Jantan; Presiden Group CEO Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, Tuan Mohd Azharuddin bin Mat Sah; Canadian Defence Advisor, Lieutenant Colonel Jason King dan Komander Jurutera Medan Barat (KJMB), Mejar Jeneral Ir Abdul Hamid bin Mohd Isa.
