Exercise SAMUDRA LAKSAMANA Strengthens Defence Relationship between Malaysia and India Defence Relations Ops & Training 29th May 202229th May 2022 Kota Kinabalu, 28 May – The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has carried out a bilateral exercise with the Indian Navy known as Exercise SAMUDRA LAKSAMANA. This field training exercise took place from 25 to 28 May 22 involving INS SATPURA and two RMN ships, namely KD PERAK and KD BADIK. The Opening Ceremony of the Exercise was officiated by the Deputy Commander of the Eastern Fleet, First Admiral Dr. Najhan bin Md Said and witnessed by Senior Officers, Commanding Officers, as well as #NavyPeople involved. Various items in the port phase, including operational discussions, friendly sports, Subject Matter Expert (SME) Partnership, reception on board and pre-voyage briefings were completed as planned. Next, these ships underwent sea phase training around the waters of the South China Sea as early as this morning. Among the main training series that have been implemented are a series of tactical maneuvers as well as helicopter landings on ships. The implementation of the bilateral exercise between RMN and TLI was successfully implemented with an understanding of joint maritime operating procedures. Eksesais yang dilaksanakan secara lapangan atau Field Training Exercise ini telah berlangsung pada 25 sehingga 28 Mei 22 melibatkan INS SATPURA dan dua buah kapal TLDM iaitu KD PERAK dan KD BADIK. Majlis Pembukaan Eksesais ini telah disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Panglima Armada Timur iaitu Laksamana Pertama Dr. Najhan bin Md Said dan disaksikan oleh Pegawai Kanan, Pegawai Memerintah, serta warga #NavyPeople terlibat. Pelbagai pengisian dalam fasa pelabuhan merangkumi perbincangan operasi, sukan persahabatan, Perkongsian Subject Matter Expert (SME), majlis resepsi di kapal dan taklimat pra-pelayaran selesai dilaksanakan seperti dirancang. Seterusnya, kapal-kapal ini telah menjalani latihan fasa laut di sekitar perairan Laut Cina Selatan seawal pagi tadi. Antara siri latihan utama yang telah dilaksanakan adalah siri manuvra taktis serta pendaratan helikopter di kapal. Pelaksanaan eksesais bilateral di antara TLDM dan TLI ini berjaya dilaksanakan dengan kesefahaman prosedur operasi maritim bersama. Dengan penganjuran eksesais seperti ini juga, ia turut dapat mengukuhkan lagi hubungan diplomasi pertahanan di antara Malaysia dan India.
