TERENDAK, August 5 – The LINUD MALINDO 2022 exercise involving members of the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Indonesian National Army – Army (TNI-AD) became a field for the unification of roles and assignments between the two countries.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Commander of 10 Brigade (Para), Brigadier General Khairul Azmizal Ahmad Natal at 17 RMR (Para) Football Field, Terendak Camp last Tuesday.
The 17th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (17 RMR) (Para) and Yonif Para Rider 432 have been entrusted with the success of the joint exercise that is carried out every year.
Khairul Azmizal in his speech explained that this joint exercise was carried out to enable both sides to exchange experiences, abilities and expertise of members in addition to improving professional and military relations between Malaysia and Indonesia.
In addition, he said, this exercise will also further strengthen the cooperation between the two parties, especially in the implementation of joint air operations.
Strictly speaking, this exercise is an exercise for the unification of roles and assignments between the two parties.
Exercise LINUD MALINDO was founded based on the decision of the General Border Committee Meeting between Malaysia and Indonesia which focused on joint training of air operations between TDM and TNI-AD.
This exercise is an annual two-way bilateral exercise carried out every year by 10 Brigade (Para) and Kostrad TNI-AD (Satgas Linud – Airborne Task Force).
This exercise is focused on Cross Training Exercise) which includes 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 (PGT) dan deployment of 𝘙𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦 (RDF Deployment) in Air Operations.
RAID is also implemented in Capturing Critical Point missions and then Extraction to carry out the next operation.
While the Professional Interaction Program (PIP) is also planned to increase cooperation and trust in strengthening defence relations.
The last time this exercise was carried out in Malaysia was in 2019.
