KUALA LUMPUR, 27 Jan – Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri bin Zali officially took over as Deputy Chief of Navy from Vice Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman bin Ayob this morning.
The Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany witnessed the handing over of the duties of the Deputy Chief of Navy together with members of the Admiralty Committee of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and Navy People around the Klang Valley in a ceremony held at KD SRI GOMBAK.
Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri has previously held the position of Commander of the Eastern Fleet since 24 December 2020. He was born on 4 March 1967 in Rawang, Selangor and has served for over 38 years. Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri entered the RMN as a Cadet Officer on 15 December 1984 and was selected to undergo the International Midshipman course in West Germany for three years until December 1987. He was commissioned on 21 December 1987 after returning from Germany.
Among the important positions he has held are Commanding Officer of KD JEBAT and Senior Fleet Officer, Assistant Chief of Human Resources Staff at Naval Headquarters, Commandant of the MAF Defence College and Commander of Naval Region 2.
Prior to this, the Navy Chief has completed the application of the rank of Senior Officer of RMN and Honorary Officer of PSSTLDM. The Commander of the Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Hj Muhammad Ruzelme bin Hj Ahmad Fahimy has been promoted to Vice Admiral while the Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources at the Naval Headquarters, First Admiral Baharudin bin Wan Md Nor has been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral. Lieutenant Commander Norzamzam bin Minirin TLDM has been promoted to the rank of Commander TLDM and Lieutenant Mohd Noorfaridzuan bin Adnan TLDM has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander TLDM.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs of Universiti Sains Malaysia, Professor Dr. Azlinda binti Azman has been awarded the rank of Honorary Commander PSSTLDM.

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 Jan – Laksamana Madya Datuk Sabri bin Zali secara rasmi mengambil alih tugas sebagai Timbalan Panglima Tentera Laut daripada Laksamana Madya Datuk Abdul Rahman bin Ayob pagi tadi.
Panglima Tentera Laut, Laksamana Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany telah menyaksikan serah terima tugas Timbalan Panglima Tentera Laut tersebut bersama ahli Jawatankuasa Laksamana Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) dan warga Navy People sekitar Lembah Klang dalam majlis yang diadakan di KD SRI GOMBAK.
Laksamana Madya Datuk Sabri sebelum ini telah memegang jawatan Panglima Armada Timur sejak 24 Disember 2020. Beliau dilahirkan pada 4 Mac 1967 di Rawang, Selangor dan telah berkhidmat lebih 38 tahun. Laksamana Madya Datuk Sabri telah memasuki TLDM sebagai Pegawai Kadet pada 15 Disember 1984 dan telah dipilih untuk menjalani kursus Midshipman Antarabangsa di Jerman Barat selama tiga tahun sehingga Disember 1987. Beliau telah ditauliahkan pada 21 Disember 1987 setelah kembali dari Jerman.
Antara jawatan penting yang pernah disandang beliau adalah Pegawai Memerintah KD JEBAT merangkap Pegawai Kanan Armada, Asisten Ketua Staf Sumber Manusia di Markas Tentera Laut, Komandan Maktab Pertahanan Angkatan Tentera dan Panglima Wilayah Laut 2.
Terlebih dahulu, Panglima Tentera Laut telah menyempurnakan pemakaian pangkat Pegawai Kanan TLDM dan Pegawai Kehormat PSSTLDM. Panglima Armada Timur, Laksamana Muda Dato’ Pahlawan Hj Muhammad Ruzelme bin Hj Ahmad Fahimy telah dinaikkan pangkat ke Laksamana Madya manakala Asisten Ketua Staf Sumber Manusia Markas Tentera Laut, Laksmana Pertama Baharudin bin Wan Md Nor telah dinaikkan ke pangkat Laksamana Muda. Leftenan Komander Norzamzam bin Minirin TLDM telah dinaikkan ke pangkat Komander TLDM dan Leftenan Mohd Noorfaridzuan bin Adnan TLDM telah dinaikkan ke pangkat Leftenan Komander TLDM. Timbalan Naib Canselor Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni Universiti Sains Malaysia, Professor Dr. Azlinda binti Azman pula telah dianugerahkan pangkat Komander Kehormat PSSTLDM.
