Fire Power Training 2023

GEMAS, 18 July 23 – The Malaysian Army (TDM) organized the Fire Power Training (LKT) 2023 at the Asahan Target Field, Syed Sirajuddin, Gemas Camp, today. The LKT which started from 8 to 18 July 2023 has involved the participation of a total of 2,660 officers and members along with 106 assets and weaponry involving Pendekar Armored Vehicles PT-91M, AV8 Gempita, Lipan Bara, Adnan and Malaysian Infantry Fighting Vehicle (MIFV) used. Meanwhile, weapons assets include small arms to large-caliber weapons. Also participating are Super Lynx Helicopters, AS555 Fennec as well as MD530G and Agusta to provide support fire from the air during the LKT.

Through this training, it is also clear that military personnel are able to operate sophisticated and up-to-date vehicle platforms and weapons in a professional manner as per the training provided. In addition, also exhibit the ability and preparation physically, mentally and intellectually to be organized to move whenever they are needed.

Overall, this exercise has indirectly demonstrated the credibility of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) in carrying out the main task of ensuring the security and sovereignty of the country is always preserved.

This year, His Majesty the King Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah has agreed to disgorge himself to witness the LKT exhibiting the ability of a combat team in a combined arms clash, through maneuvers and firepower in a dynamic segment that includes Infantry Support weapons, Mechanized, Armor, Artillery, Army Air Forces and Royal Malaysian Navy Aircraft as well as the Royal Air Force Malaysia in demonstrating the effectiveness of the Malaysian Armed Forces weapons system.

In addition, this exercise also tests team management, the ability of members and demonstrates the competence of members involved in carrying out live ammunition training.

Also present, Chief of Defence Force, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affendi bin Buang TUDM, Commander of the Army, Minister of Defence, YB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, Deputy Minister of Defence, YB Adly Bin Zahari, Acting Secretary General of the Ministry Malaysian Defence, Datuk Dr. Shahrazat Binti Haji Ahmad, General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Rahman bin Ayob and Chief of Air Force, Lieutenant General Datuk Seri Haji Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris TUDM representing the Chief of Air Force.
