HARIMAU SHAKTI 2024: Strengthening Malaysia-India Military Ties

The sixth edition of Exercise HARIMAU SHAKTI, a bilateral military initiative between the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Indian Army (TDI), commenced on 2 December 2024 and is scheduled to conclude on 15 December 2024. This significant event, hosted by the 11th Brigade of the Malaysian Army, is designed to bolster collaboration and operational capabilities between the two forces.

The opening ceremony, held at the 25th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (25 RAMD) Parade Ground in Kem Bentong, Pahang, was officiated by Brigadier General Shahir Hafizul bin Abd Rahman. The exercise involves a cross-training segment followed by a field training segment that simulates complex military scenarios. It provides an opportunity for participants to share expertise, refine tactical procedures, and build rapport.

Exercise HARIMAU SHAKTI underscores the shared commitment of Malaysia and India to regional stability and showcases their readiness to address evolving security challenges. Beyond enhancing tactical readiness, it also strengthens diplomatic and defence ties between the two nations. This collaboration is a testament to the deepening friendship and mutual respect within the ASEAN region.

Eksesais HARIMAU SHAKTI Siri 6/2024 adalah eksesais Bilateral antara Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) dan Tentera Darat India (TDI). Ini merupakan eksesais kali keenam yang diadakan melibatkan dua buah negara. Formasi 11 Bgd telah dilantik sebagai penganjur bagi menjayakan eksesais bilateral antara TDM dan TDI. Eksesais ini dilaksanakan secara 3 Fasa yang terdiri daripada Cross Training Exercise (CTX), Field Training Exercise (FTX).

Eksesais ini telah bermula pada 2 Disember hingga 15 Disember 2024, melibatkan penyertaan TDM seramai 22 Pegawai dan 154 Anggota Lain-Lain Pangkat (LLP) dari Batalion Ke-25 RAMD serta dibantu oleh beberapa pasukan sokongan. Manakala, TDI pula melibatkan 7 Pegawai dan 71 Anggota Lain-Lain Pangkat dari 11 Mahar Regiment.

Panglima Briged Kesebelas Infantri Malaysia, Brigedier Jeneral Shahir Hafizul bin Abd Rahman telah menyempurnakan Upacara Pembukaan Eksesais HARIMAU SHAKTI Siri 6/2024 di Padang Kawad Batalion Ke-25 Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (25 RAMD), Kem Bentong, Pahang pada 2 Disember 2024.

Latihan ini memberi tumpuan kepada taktik, prosedur, dan operasi ketenteraan yang melibatkan kedua-dua tentera dalam situasi kompleks. Ia bukan sahaja meningkatkan interaksi antara pasukan, tetapi juga memberi peluang untuk kedua-dua negara berkongsi kepakaran dalam pelbagai aspek operasi ketenteraan, serta memperkukuh hubungan diplomatik dan pertahanan.

Melalui eksesais seperti HARIMAU SHAKTI, kedua-dua tentera dapat mempertingkatkan keupayaan mereka dalam menghadapi cabaran keselamatan serantau yang semakin kompleks.
