APAC Course Produces New Generation of Elite 10th Brigade (Parachute) Warriors

KUALA TERENGGANU, 16 August 2025 – A total of 7 officers and 124 soldiers of the Malaysian Army (TDM) have successfully completed the Basic Rapid Deployment Force (APAC) Course Series 2/2025, officially earning their place among the elite Maroon Beret family of the 10th Parachute Brigade (10 Brigade Para).

The closing ceremony, held at Drawbridge Square, was officiated by the Deputy Army Chief, Lieutenant General Dato’ Tengku Muhammad Fauzi bin Tengku Ibrahim.

Guests were treated to a dynamic combat demonstration, showcasing the brigade’s rapid strike capabilities through a combined air-land assault involving MD 530G and EC 725 helicopters, a clear testament to the unit’s peak operational readiness.

Gruelling One-Month Elite Training

The intensive one-month course, conducted from 13 July to 16 August, pushed trainees to their physical and mental limits through a series of arduous phases. These included Survival Training, Navigation, the ascent of Mount Sarut, endurance marches, and a gruelling 40-kilometre rowing challenge.

Outstanding Trainees Recognised

In recognition of excellence, the Deputy Army Chief presented awards to the following outstanding participants:

  • Best Overall Trainee: Second Lieutenant Muhammad Haikal bin Abdullah, 10th KPD Company (Para)
  • Best Physical Fitness Trainee: Private Muhammad Adlinaim bin Ishak, 9 RAMD (Para)
  • Best Resilience Trainee: Sergeant Abdul Rahim bin Ismail, 18 RAMD (Para)

In his speech, Lt Gen Tengku Muhammad Fauzi congratulated all graduates and reminded them that this achievement marks only the beginning of a greater duty and responsibility to defend Malaysia’s sovereignty.

Royal and Senior Leadership Presence

Also in attendance were YAM Tengku Sri Temenggong Raja, Brigadier General Dato’ Seri Tengku Baharuddin ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, Commander of the 10th Parachute Brigade, Brigadier General Khairul Anwar bin Soib, senior army officers, and government agency heads.

The graduation of this new batch of paratroopers strengthens the combat effectiveness and rapid deployment capabilities of the Malaysian Army, reinforcing its position as a modern and resilient force ready to respond to any threat.
