Vessel from Malaysia to Assist in Search for Missing Indonesian Submarine

There are reports that the Submarine Escape and Rescue (SMER) MV Mega Bakti belonging to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) will be involved in the search and rescue mission for the Indonesian navy (TNI-AL) submarine “KRI Nanggala” which went missing in northern waters of Bali.

However, so far there has been no confirmation from the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) on the involvement of MV Mega Bakti in the SAR mission of the Indonesian submarine.

If there are reports that the MV Mega Bakti will be involved in the submarine’s SAR mission, then it will join similar ships from Singapore, Australia and other countries.

The MV Bakti ship is equipped with various equipment including Submarine Rescue Diving and Recompression System.

The MV Swift Rescue, based at Changi Naval Base and operated by the Singapore Navy, was reported to have sailed to the area of ​​the incident in northern Bali.

There were more than 50 submarine crews inside the German-made KRI Nanggala-402 built in 1979 when it lost contact in Bali.

The disappearance of the Indonesian submarine has already been confirmed by the country’s military.

There are reports that KRI Nanggala is on the seabed 700 meters deep


Terdapat laporan mengatakan kapal penyelamat Submarine Escape and Rescue (SMER) MV Mega Bakti milik Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) akan terlibat dalam misi mencari dan menyelamat kapal selam tentera laut Indonesia (TNI-AL) “KRI Nanggala” yang hilang di perairan utara Bali.

Bagaimanapun setakat ini tiada pengesahan daripada pihak Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) tentang penglibatan MV Mega Bakti dalam misi SAR kapal selam Indonesia itu.

Jika laporan bahawa kapal MV Mega Bakti itu bakal terlibat dalam misi SAR kapal selam itu, maka ia akan menyertai kapal-kapal seumpama daripada Singapura, Australia dan lain-lain negara.

Kapal MV Bakti itu dilengkapi dengan pelbagai peralatan termasuk Submarine Rescue Diving and Recompression System.

Kapal MV Swift Rescue yang berpengakalan di Changi Naval Base dan dioperasikan oleh Tentera Laut Singapura diberitakan telah pun belayar ke kawasan insiden di utara Bali itu.

Sebuah kapal selam milik tentera laut Indonesia (TNI AL) “hilang kontak” ketika dalam latihan penembakan torpedo di utara Bali.

Terdapat lebih 50 krew kapal selam berada di dalam KRI Nanggala-402 buatan Jerman yang dibina pada tahun 1979 itu ketika ia hilang kontak di Bali itu.

Kehilangan kapal selam Indonesia telah pun disahkan oleh pihak tentera negara itu.

Terdapat laporan mengatakan KRI Nanggala itu berada di dasar laut sedalam 700 meter.
