RMN Commissions Second Littoral Mission Ship KD SUNDANG

Kota Kinabalu, 5 March 21 – The Littoral Mission Ship (LMS) SUNDANG Commissioning Ceremony, the second LMS Ship for the RMN was witnessed by the Chief Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany at the Kota Kinabalu RMN Base this morning. 

YBhg Tan Sri Mohd Reza read the Letter of Commissioning in front of the #NavyPeople present and also performed the wearing of the Commanding Insignia to Commander Khairil bin Sarian RMN, the first Commanding Officer of the KD SUNDANG.

For the record, KD SUNDANG, consisting of 45 crew members, has sailed 1,862 nautical miles starting on 17 January 2021 and arrived safely at PTKK on 24 January 2021.

Like the First LMS (KD KERIS), KD SUNDANG will operate under the command of the Eastern Fleet Command Headquarters in Sabah.  The RMN is expected to receive the 3rd and 4th LMS Ships in October and December 2021 to meet the operational requirements as stated in the 15 to 5 Transformation Plan.

KAPAL MISI PESISIR KEDUA TLDM, KD SUNDANG SELESAI DITAULIAHKAN

Kota Kinabalu, 5 Mac 21 – Upacara Pentauliahan Littoral Mission Ship (LMS) SUNDANG iaitu Kapal LMS kedua bagi TLDM telah disempurnakan oleh Panglima Tentera Laut, Laksamana Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany di Pangkalan TLDM Kota Kinabalu pagi ini. YBhg Tan Sri Mohd Reza telah membacakan Watikah Pentauliahan di hadapan #NavyPeople yang hadir dan turut melaksanakan pemakaian Insignia Pemerintahan kepada Komander Khairil bin Sarian TLDM, Pegawai Memerintah Kapal Diraja (KD) SUNDANG yang pertama.

Untuk rekod, KD SUNDANG yang terdiri daripada 45 orang kru telah mengharungi pelayaran sejauh 1,862 batu nautika bermula pada 17 Januari 2021 dan selamat tiba di PTKK pada 24 Januari 2021.

Sebagaimana LMS Pertama (KD KERIS), KD SUNDANG akan beroperasi di bawah pemerintahan Markas Pemerintahan Armada Timur di Sabah. TLDM dijangka akan menerima Kapal LMS ke-3 dan ke-4 pula pada bulan Oktober dan Disember 2021 bagi memenuhi keperluan pengoperasian sepertimana yang dinyatakan dalam Pelan Transformasi 15 to 5.
