MELAKA: The Commander of the Third Malaysian Infantry Division (3 Div), Maj Gen Dato’ Tengku Muhammad Fauzi Tengku Ibrahim paid a visit to KD MAHAWANGSA located around Telok Gong on 19 Nov 2021.
The visit aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between the land and maritime components through the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) for the successful tasking of Op BENTENG.
KD MAHAWANGSA,commissioned into service in 1983, is currently carrying out Op BENTENG and is also involved in Exercise NAGA EMAS 67/21 in the waters of the Straits of Melaka with the RMN Special Forces Combat Team (PASKAL).
KD MAHAWANGSA Commanding Officer, Captain Mohd Amin Mat Tahir RMN said the strength of RMN through Maritime Component Commander (MCC) is with the presence of RMN ships operating 24/7 to support the country’s intention and aspirations to curb the entry of Illegal Immigrants (PATI).
“In addition, the joint training with PASKAL will increase the team’s readiness in Maritime Special Operations such as anti-hijacking and rescuing hostages.
“The 3 Div Commander intends to work with the land and maritime components in Op BENTENG together with 18 other agencies to form accurate understanding by channeling information and swift action to curb cross-border activities and crime,” explained KD MAHAWANGSA Commanding Officer.

PANGLIMA 3 DIV LAWAT KAPAL KD MAHAWANGSA TLDM
MELAKA: Panglima Divisyen Ketiga Infantri Malaysia (3 Div), Mej Jen Dato’ Tengku Muhammad Fauzi Tengku Ibrahim melakukan lawatan ke Kapal Diraja (KD) MAHAWANGSA bertempat di sekitar Telok Gong pada 19 Nov 2021.
Lawatan ini bertujuan mempertingkatkan kerjasama dan koordinasi antara komponen darat dengan maritim melalui Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) bagi menjayakan penugasan Op BENTENG.
Kapal KD MAHAWANGSA yang ditauliahkan ke dalam perkhidmatan pada tahun 1983 kini sedang melaksanakan Op BENTENG dan turut terlibat dalam Eksesais NAGA EMAS Siri 67/21 di perairan Selat Melaka bersama Tim Penggempur Pasukan Khas Laut (PASKAL) TLDM.
Pegawai Memerintah KD MAHAWANGSA, Kepten Mohd Amin Mat Tahir TLDM berkata keperkasaan TLDM melalui Maritime Component Commander (MCC) adalah dengan kehadiran kapal TLDM beroperasi 24/7 bagi menyokong hasrat dan aspirasi negara untuk mengekang kemasukan Pendatang Asing Tanpa Izin (PATI).
“Di samping itu, latihan bersama PASKAL akan meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan pasukan dalam Operasi Khas Maritim seperti anti perampasan kapal serta menyelamatkan tebusan.
“Panglima 3 Div berhasrat dengan jalinan kerjasama antara komponen darat dan maritim di dalam Op BENTENG bersama 18 agensi lain berjaya membentuk dimensi persefahaman jitu dengan menyalurkan maklumat dan tindakan pantas dilakukan demi mengekang aktiviti serta jenayah rentas sempadan,” jelas Pegawai Memerintah KD MAHAWANGSA.
