RMAF Conducts Exercise to Test Efficiency

Kuala Lumpur: The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) will conduct operational and preparedness training for air assets starting today until 7 March involving areas around Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu and Penang.

RMAF in a statement today informed that during the exercise, RMAF aircraft will perform low tactical flights in certain areas, especially around Selangor and Gong Kedak Air Base, Terengganu; Butterworth Air Base, Penang and Kuantan Air Base, Pahang.

“People are advised not to be anxious and worried if they see RMAF planes flying low during the operational and alert training period,” according to the statement.

The statement also informed that the training was held to assess the efficiency of the members and the Air Special Forces (PASKAU) as well as the logistical support team in carrying out the responsibility of protecting the country’s sovereignty.

“The exercise aims to test the capability of armaments equipment as well as the readiness of RMAF assets to ensure the effectiveness of the implementation of joint operational tasks involving aircraft from various categories such as fighter planes, transporters and helicopters,” according to the statement.
